Meet Kinsley! Kinsley is our SUPER STUDENT OF THE WEEK! Commit to Excellence Reading/Language In reading we’re taking a look at stories about moms. We are learning about the difference between asking questions and telling information. We are learning about “who”, “where” and “what” questions. We connect this to writing as well. We check our writing to make sure that we have answered those questions for our reader. Thanks to all the families that sent in the family posters. We have really enjoyed sharing and looking at those. In language we are beginning to blend words. We are just working with “cvc” words (consonant-vowel-consonant, like cat, mop, jug). You can practice this at home by having your child say the individual sounds and then blending into a word. Please work on the letter names/sounds that your child has not mastered Kindergarten Kids 1 Important Dates November 11 th -No School Veteran’s Day November 18 th -Field Trip to The Festival of Trees November 21 st -Report Cards Go Home At Home Have your child ask “who”, “what”, and “where” questions. numbers. We are looking at them as a group of 10 and some more. This concept will spiral and come back when we compose and decompose teen numbers in later topics.

In social studies, we will be learning about our communities—who and what is in them. We will also be looking at community helpers.
