A Nebo School District mobile app is now available to view student information (schedules, grades, attendance, etc.) and school information (news, calendars, lunch menus, etc.). Multiple schools can be followed, and there are multiple ways to log in. The iOS and Android apps can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Graduation Information: Seniors will be given information about ordering their cap and gown at an assembly on Friday, February 2. The assembly will be held in the G-Wing gym at 10:20. ACT Prep Class: We will be having an ACT prep class on January 27 and February 3. The cost is $50. Please sign up at the finance office. If not enough students sign up, the class will be cancelled. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on February 8th, students who come with a parent can receive 3 hours of detention credit. Detention Credit: Students who attend one of the Nebo School District Mental Health Awareness Nights can receive 3 hours of detention credit. Driver’s Ed: We are taking sign-ups for February driver’s ed. For more information, email Mr. Money at [email protected] The FFA is doing a Service project for the Veterans home in Payson next Thursday, February 8 @ 3 p.m. We are meeting in Mrs. Giffing's room. We are making wheel chair and walker bags for them to hold their belongings. We are looking for donations to help us with making these bags. For each bag we need: 2 pieces of fabric 18" x 36" (one needs to be heavier fabric like: twill, denim or canvas) Ties or Ribbon 1/2" x 1 1/2 yards 1/2 yard of sew on Velcro If anyone wants to help by donating supplies please bring them to Mr Fred or Mrs. Giffing. Math Lab: Need math help?

• Math 2 and College Prep Math Labs are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, Math 3 and Pre-Calculus Math Labs are Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, room I-210 with Ms. Booth.

Athletics: Swim:

This past weekend, the Red Devil swim teams competed in the Region 8 championship meet. It was a very successful meet. Over 108 individual swims, there were 83 personal best times achieved which is pretty remarkable!!! The men’s team took 1st place by a significant margin to become REGION CHAMPIONS. The women’s team just narrowly beat Skyridge in a very exciting final relay to take over 2nd place overall in the region by only 4 points. The following swimmers and relays made the podium and received medals:

This Region meet was the conclusion of the swim season for most of the team who ALL deserve a big “Congratulations” for an amazing season. The following 12 swimmers will continue to train a couple more weeks and will be representing SHS at the state swim meet on Feb. 9-10 at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful, Utah: Cameron Green, Braxton Armstrong, Spencer McQueen, Cougar Pope, Michael Atwood, Kaden Jepperson, Jordan Pugmire, Natalie Mertz, Nicole Pope, Tanna Smallcomb, Hanna Daines and Anna Brower.

Drill: Congratulations to the drill team for taking 3rd at the region championship! They have qualified for the state championship. Boys Basketball: Just a heads up. SF17 is planning on broadcasting the Tuesday match between MM and Springville. As you remember, your faithful can watch the game on Youtube.com/spanishfork17. Spread the word!! Wrestling: State Divisional tournament Wednesday January 31st – February 1st. Track & Field Parent /Athlete Meeting: Wednesday, February 7th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Information for the upcoming outdoor season will be handed out. Girls Golf: Any Girls interested in playing golf please talk to Mr. Jacobus, room E Girls Soccer: Cami Bushnell joins Springville Coaching staff as the Head Girls Soccer Coach. Cami comes to Springville with a combined 23 years of playing and coaching experience. Formerly the assistant varsity coach at Timpview High School, the team won two region championships, made three state tournament semi-final appearances and won the 2016 state title. Bushnell was a member of the BYU women’s soccer team from 2009-2012. She was part of three conference championships and three NCAA tournament teams, including an Elite 8 appearance in 2012.

We are excited to have Cami on our staff, and look forward to have her continue an exciting and competitive program here for Girls Soccer. We will be holding a Meet the Coach night on January 31, 2018 at 5:00 in the Springville High Cafeteria.

Scholarships Regents: The application deadline for the Regents 'Scholarship is February 1. Please see your counselor if you have any questions. Utah Scholars Recognition Application Process for Seniors: The application for the StepUp Utah Scholars Recognition certificate and medallion is open. If seniors are interested in applying please fill out the form online. This is open to any student that meets the requirements of having at least a 3.0 GPA and who has completed at least 20 Next Steps off of our Grade-by-Grade checklists. Seniors who have not yet signed up for this program can still do so before the application deadline. The Next Steps (college readiness activities) can be completed at any time. The grade-by-grade checklists are a suggested timeline that students can follow, but they will not be penalized if they complete an activity at a different time. The Utah Scholars Recognition Application deadline is March 1, 2018.

Extracurricular Activities D'Males is right around the corner! It costs $10 to participate. Sign up and pay in the finance office by 3 pm on February 1st. There will be mandatory practices Monday-Friday mornings (2/5-9) from 6:30-7:30 and performances during the girls and boys basketball games on Friday, February 9th. Come join the fun!
