1. Introduction
1. An overview Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SRS) is a comprehensive software package for report creation. It interfaces directly with Microsoft SQL Server which permits up‐to‐date reporting to be performed against data stored in your ValuePRO instance.
2. Enabling of SQL Reporting Services SQL Reporting Services functionality is optionally enabled for your ValuePRO instance. To access to this package please contact ValuePRO Technical Support. Please note that SQL Reporting Services is a discrete software package from ValuePRO and is not produced or maintained by ValuePRO Software.

1. Logging in to SRS To access your SRS package, open the following page in Internet Explorer: http://multilink.valuepro.com.au/Reports/ You will be presented with the login screen below:
Enter the username and password supplied by ValuePRO and click OK.

2. Select your company folder Click on the link for your company to view current reports and create new reports. NB: access is restricted to your company; any reports you create can only be accessed using your login details.

3. View, edit and create reports Click any of the listed reports to view that report. Please note the following icons are used in SRS: Item Icon Use Report View ValuePRO data in a customisable report format

3. Creating a Report
1. Open the Report Builder program Report Builder is a program included with the SRS package that allows users to create reports using a familiar Microsoft Office style interface and functionality. This section of the guide will provide instructions on creating a simple report showing jobs received for one month. To open Report Builder go to the company page of SRS and click the Report Builder button.

2. Select a Model Once Report Builder has loaded you will see the screen below.

From the Getting Started pane on the right‐hand side of the window select the available Model and click OK.

3. Select a starting Entity Report Builder Entities represent tables in the ValuePRO database. Each Entity relates to a common ValuePRO object: Valuations, Users, Lenders, etc. To begin the report, select the entity which will be primary source for the report. For this sample report, we will use the Valuation Entity.

4. Add a field to the Report Drag the field Job Number from the field list on the left‐hand side of the window to the middle of the report in the area labelled “Drag and drop column fields”.

Once you’ve added the field to the report the screen should look as below. Note the Job Number is listed as a label (“Job Number”), and a formatted string (“xxxxxxxxxx”).

5. Add the Address to the report Now drag the field Address to the report layout after the Job Number field. When you drag the cursor near the right‐hand side of the Job Number field in the layout a blue vertical bar will appear: this indicates where the new field will be added to the layout.

After adding the Address field your report should look as below.

Repeat this step to add the Date In, Date Out and Total Fee fields. After adding these fields your report should look as below.

6. Add the Valuer’s name to the report The Valuer is a separate entity from the job. In the Entity section, select the Valuer entity to select fields for the Valuer who completed the job.

Select the Valuer Name field and drag it onto the layout, after the Total Fee field.

7. Modify the Valuer Name label Associated Entity fields are added to the layout with a label of “<Entity> <Field Name>”. Here, our Valuer Name has been added with the label “Valuer Valuer Name”. We will edit this to remove the Entity name from the label. Double‐click on the text “Valuer Valuer Name” to edit the label and type the desired label.

8. Adjust column widths To ensure our report fits comfortably onto the page, narrow the Date In, Date Out and Total Fee fields. When you hover the mouse cursor on the vertical divider between fields in the layout you will see the resize cursor appear. When this cursor is present, click and drag to adjust the column width.

9. Add a Filter to the report
Filters are used to specify the records that will appear in the report. To add a filter, click the Filter button in the Report toolbar.

For this report, we will apply a filter on Valuations that have been received for the month‐to‐date. First, check that the Valuation Entity is selected then double‐click the field named Date In. This will add the Date In field to the list of Filters.

In the Filter pane, click the date selector (currently: “(unspecified)”), click Relative Date, then click “first day this month”.

10. Run the Report Click the Run Report button in the Reports toolbar to run the report.
