Square D Masterpact Circuit Breakers
Industry-leading performanceSquare D Masterpact™ circuit breakers continue to set the standard with innovations and technology to improve reliability and uptime, speed installation, and promote superior connectivity. The next-generation air circuit breakers provide higher interrupting ratings, a smaller footprint, and more accessories than any other insulated case breaker.
Full-featured performanceFor nearly three decades, Masterpact has been the trusted “workhorse” for companies who demand electric system uptime and reliability. Key operational functions:
• Complete product offering through 200 kAIR without fuses at 240 Vac (UL 489), 254 Vac (ANSI C37/UL 1066)
• To optimize space, NW breakers are available in two frame sizes that cover requirements from 800 A to 6,300 A
• NT is 70 percent smaller than NW, and offers three UL frames: 800 A, 1,200 A, and 1,600 A
• Rated for all AC voltage systems through 600 V
• UL 489 listed; available in constructions that meet ANSI C37.13, UL 1066, and IEC® 947.2 standards.
Robust, reliable performance• Masterpact offers short-time withstand ratings up to 100,000 amperes
and interrupting ratings up to 200,000 amperes — without fuses — to prevent unnecessary outages and ensure continuity of service.
• Main breaker capability can be fully selective with downstream breakers, reducing nuisance tripping to help maintain reliable electrical performance.
• Reinforced insulation barriers separate the circuit breaker front from the current path for more robust design and greater protection.
• Tougher clusters and cluster shield designs are more robust so they are better able to withstand rough handling or potential impacts while acting as a guide so installing the breaker is smoother. The new design eliminates the need for cluster clips, which reduces installation materials.

Intuitive designs for speed of installation and maintenance• Fewer tools are required to maintain the breaker, which speeds
installation, reduces maintenance costs, and improves uptime. Additionally, new shutters use simple, snap-in installation with no hardware required.
• New design for racking in/out is more intuitive, offering faster maintenance and increased uptime. Labels on the NW breakers lead electricians through the process, making racking breakers in and out a simple, intuitive process.
• Segregated compartments allow access to the accessory compartment while the main contacts remain fully isolated for faster installation and improved uptime.
• Arc chambers design allows workers to visually inspect contacts and wear indicator grooves for less downtime.
• Drawout mounting provides additional features and fl exibility. Using a simple racking mechanism, electricians can crank out breakers for inspection, replacement, testing, and replacement of accessories.

Trend-setting, modular connectivity
• Masterpact circuit breakers offer superior fl exibility with modular, fi eld-installable accessories, including trip units and sensor plugs.
Interchangeable Micrologic™ trip units provide electronic circuit protection with adjustable protection settings for maximum system coordination and fl exibility. The simplest units provide basic overcurrent protection while the advanced units offer sophisticated functions including short-time and ground-fault protection, allowing for zone selective interlocking with downstream breakers.
Additionally, Micrologic trip units enable circuit breakers to be networked and remotely controlled, leading to substantial savings in electrical system operating costs, and improved system integration and coordination.
