PURPOSE

♥ This experiment aims to make a cake with an additive of squash and also aims to deal with the quality of the cake using squash and compare it to commercial cake. We choose this vegetable because you can get many benefits and most especially to the children were most of them doesn’t love to eat squash. That’s why instead of having a “viand of squash” we prefer cake so that parents can easily handle the children when it comes to eat their meals.

PROCEDURE

Ingredients:♥ 3 cups freshly cooked and pureed squash♥ 4 eggs ♥ 1 3/4 cups sugar ♥ 1 1/2 cups oil ♥ 3 cups flour ♥ 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon ♥ 1 teaspoon salt ♥ 2 teaspoons baking soda ♥ 2 teaspoons baking powder ♥ 3/4 cup raisins ♥ 1/2 cup nuts

Materials to be used:♥ Measuring Cup♥ Measuring Spoon♥ Tube pan♥ Hand mixer♥ Fork♥ Knife♥ Mixing bowl♥ Mortar and pestle

DIRECTION:♥ Wash and cut the squash into

pieces and then cook until tender in boiling water, then drain and rub pulp through sieve. At low speed, beat the squash, eggs, sugar and oil. In another bowl, beat flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Gradually mix together. When mixed, add raisins and nuts and put in tube pan.

♥ Bake at 350°F. degrees for 1 hour.

♥ Squash has many types and has different characteristics in preventing the occurrence of such diseases or illness in one’s person.

♥ Squash contains Vitamin C, fiber and folate which makes it as preventive agent from developing cancers, heart diseases, diabetes and other inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and asthma. It is also a good source of Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Folic Acid, fiber, manganese, magnesium, zinc, phosphorous, copper, tryptophan, omega-3 fatty acids and panthotonic.

♥ Promoting a good health is the very important effect that a squash may give. It has the great amount of nutrients, vitamins, mineral and other substance which is necessary to human to keep them strong and healthy. It prevents not only one but a dozen of diseases. ♥ I advise also to make a candy out of squash with food coloring to enhance the curiosity of a child to eat that kind of food which is new to his/her taste.
