SRC characteristics
� SRC = short rotation coppice
� intensive cultivations of fast growing tree species on
agricultural land
� most commonly used: clonal breeding material of poplar
(populus balsamifera, populus tremula), willow (salix
viminalis)
� short rotation period (3 to 10 years) depending on stand
density
� average yield ranging from 8 to 12 t dry mass per ha and year
� plant once harvest several times
