III) Specifications of Bus ducts:-A) The price shall be quoted for 1 meter running and the actual
running length shall be measured by contractor as per siteconditions .The approximate running length would be Maximumapprox.600meters. The payment will be made as per the actualmeasurements.
B) Copper flexible jumpers shall be connected from Transformers LTbushings to Bust duct for three transformers of the capacity 4000A forthree phases and neutral. The jumpers are made with 0.5mm tinnedcopper sheet and current carrying @ 1A per 1 sqmm.
1.0) BUS DUCT:
1. SCOPEThis section covers Design, manufacture, inspection, transportation to site, installation,Testing and commissioning of Low tension bus duct for connection between (A)Transformers and Main PCC Panel (B) DG sets and Main PCC Panel (C) FROM Main newMCC panel ACB ,DG ACB TO existing PCC panel T/F ACB and DG ACB as per ourrequirement.2. GENERALThe layout of the bus ducts shall be in line with the drawings/site conditions and shallbegot approved by Engineer-in-chargeThe Vendor shall visit and take measurements of Bus duct requirement and shall bedesign the bus ductAll parts and accessories shall have appropriate match mark and part numbers for easyIdentification and installation at site.3. STANDARDSThe bus duct works shall confirm to up-to date amendments and relevantstandards/codeas applicable:4. DESIGNBus duct shall be Non-segregated phase suitable for 415 volts, 3 Phase& Neutral, 50 Hz,AC supply and indoor installation as per the requirement.Bus duct shall be designed to withstand the fault level of 50KA for 01 second.Bus duct shall be designed for continuous current rating of 4000A after 40% D rating.5. CONSTRUCTION5.1 ENCLOSUREAll the three phases shall be enclosed in a weather proof, dust tight enclosure, Indoorand Outdoor section of the bus duct shall be completely rain proof. Weather resistanttypeCircumferential gaskets shall be provided for making the joints with adjacent enclosuresDust – proof and impervious to moisture suitable inspection opening with gaskets shallbe provided for access to support insulator, lugs joints etc.Bus duct enclosure shall be made of 35 X 35 X 5mm angular frame and 14 SWG. (2mm)CRCA sheet steel, for bus rating 4000A.The degree of enclosure protection shall be IP-55 for outdoor application.
All ventilation openings shall be screened and drains shall be filtered to prevententrance of dust and vermin.The portion of bus duct at transformers and DG ends may be subject to vibration.Suitable means shall be provided to isolate the transformers/DGs vibration from rest ofthe bus duct.For continuous operation at specified ratings, temperature rise of the bus duct shall belimited to the site permissible values stipulated in relevant standards and/or thisspecification.Bus duct shall be capable of withstanding the mechanical forces and thermal stresses ofthe short-circuit currents without any damage of deterioration of material.The L.T. bus ducts shall be self cooled and shall not be equipped with blower or anyother type of forced ventilation.6. DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS6.1 BUSBARS6.1.1 MaterialBus bars shall be made up of high conductivity electrolytic quality aluminum asspecifiedin BOQ with maximum temperature limited to 85 deg. C (i.e. 35 deg. C rise over 50 deg. Cambient).6.1.2 Current densityThe Aluminum bus bars shall be of sufficient cross section. The design current density of0.6Amp/Sq. mm for aluminum bus bars shall be maintained. However, the design shallbe Suitable for the 50 KA fault level.6.1.3 Neutral bar ratingThe rating of the neutral bar shall be minimum 50% of the phase bar.6.1.4 JointsAdequate contact pressure shall be ensured by means of two bolt connection with plain& Spring washers and locknuts.Bimetallic connectors shall be provided for connections between dissimilar metals.The bus conductor shall be designed for bolted connections throughout the run. Jointsfor the bus bar shall be bolted but joints of construction with double cover fish platesand with adequate contact area.6.1.5 Insulation & supportsBus bars and connections shall be fully insulated for working voltage with heat shrinkColour coded PVC insulating sleeves.Bus insulators shall be flame-retardant, non-hygroscopic, track resistant type with highCreepage surface materials like fiber glass reinforced thermosetting plastic/ epoxy/FRP.They shall withstand without any damage or deformation the thermal and dynamicStresses due to short circuit currents.6.1.6 Color codingBus bars shall be colour coded for easy identification (Red, Yellow, Blue for three phasesand Black colour for neutral for A.C 3 phase system). Heat shrinkable, colour coded PVCInsulation sleeve shall be used for this purpose.6.1.7 Lay out sequenceThey are so positioned that the sequence of R-Y-B-N bars shall be from left to right, topto bottom or front to rear, when viewed from the front of switchgear assembly.6.1.8 Clearances & creepage distancesAs far as possible, large phase and ground clearances and creepage distances shall be

The clearancementionedbelow shall be minimum and maintained even at the connection point.1 Phase to Phase – 35 mm2 Phase to Neutral – 28 mm3 Phase to Earth – 28 mm6.2 HARD WAREZinc passivated or any other superior quality standard size hard ware to be used for allJoints/connections/terminations at switchgear & control gear, bus bars, ground bus ,interconnections/wiring etc.6.3 Convenience of maintenanceThe system shall be maintenance friendly. i.e. it should be possible to easily connect /tighten /disconnect etc.6.4 Inspection CoversInspection covers shall be provided at suitable intervals as required.6.5 Disconnect LinkRemovable bolted disconnect link shall be provided in the bus for the purpose ofisolation.Disconnect link shall consist of a removable section of conductor and shall be soConstructed as to permit easy removal or reinsertion without alignment difficulties.The bus on both sides of the link shall be rigidly supported so that the disconnect link isequal in mechanical strength to any other section of the bus.A minimum clearance of 300 mm (12”) shall be provided between the disconnected bussections with the link removed.6.6 VentilationThe bus duct shall be natural cooled.6.7 Joints, Expansion/Flexible jointsThe bus bar shall be supported in such a way that the expansion/contraction does nothave undue strain on the bus and at the terminals at both ends.Circumferential neoprene gaskets shall be provided for dust tight joints with adjacentenclosure section.The bus enclosure shall have extended bellows or equivalent means to allow fortemperature changes and vibrations.Flexible joints shall be provided in enclosures at all points where the bus ductterminates at equipment to withstand vibration, expansion/contraction and at suitableintervals in any straight run of the bus duct where expansion and contraction wouldotherwise result in stresses in the supporting structures.Flexible connections shall be provided between bus sections to allow for expansion andcontraction of the conductor. Flexible connection shall also be provided at all equipmentterminations.All contact surfaces shall be silver plated to ensure an efficient and troublefreeconnection.6.8 Other pointsShipping length of the bus duct shall be not more than three (3) meters in length.Filtered drains for drainage of condensate shall be provided at the lowest points and atsuch locations where accumulation of condensate can be expected.6.9 GROUND BUSTwo numbers of Earth bars shall run along the full length of bus duct made up of size 50mm X 6 mm GI, strip. This ground bus shall be fixed to the bus duct on theexternal side. It shall have provision to connect main earth/loop earth conductors withbolts, nuts, washers & spring washers. Metallic parts of the bus duct & associatedstructures etc. shall be bonded to the ground bus for effective earthing.One end of the earth bus shall be joined to the LT Panel side body earth lead and theother end shall be joined to the transformer body earth.
7. INSTALLATIONAll supporting structures required for hanging and/or supporting the complete bus ductshall be provided including related civil works. These include all types of supports,brackets, beams, channels, rods, clamps, hardware, etc to support with wall, roof, trussetc.Bus ducts running along the wall should be supported at intervals not exceeding 1.5m.In case of branching, there should be a support on all branches at a distance of 30 cmsfrom the point of branching. Support should not be less than 40mm X 40mm X6mm MSangle secured in an approved manner. Supports may also be formed as brackets fixed towalls where runs are along with walls. Supports shall be grouted on the walls.In case of ceiling suspended bus ducts, supports made of 40mm X 40mm X6mm MSangle iron shall be provided. The horizontal interval between two such supports shouldnot be more than 1200mm. However, additional supports to be given at the bends andTermination points. These duct supports shall be suspended from the C.I/MS. boxes orsuitable approved suspension device provided in the ceiling by means of 12 mmdiameterMS rods.Where fish plates are available, the same can be used for busduct support works. Wherethere is no such provision, good quality anchor fasteners of size not less than 8mm shallbe used in the ceiling.Seal-off bushings complete with wall frame and support plates shall be provided wherethe bus duct penetrates the building wall. The seal is to prevent free exchange of airbetween two portions of the bus duct part of which is indoor while the other is outdoor.Silica-gel breather shall be provided on both portions of the bus duct between the sealof bushings.CONNECTIONS & TERMINATIONSAll matching flanges, seal-off bushings, gaskets, fittings, hardware and supportsrequiredfor termination of the bus duct at the switchgears and DG set shall be provided.Flexible connections both for conductor and enclosure shall be provided.a) At all equipment termination to provide for misalignment up to 25 mm (1”) in alldirections.b) Between bus duct supported from building steel to prevent transmission of vibration.The equipment terminal connections shall be readily accessible and shall providesufficient air gap for safe isolation of equipment during testing.If the material of bus conductor and that of the equipment terminal connectors aredifferent then suitable bi-metallic connectors shall be furnished.8. PAINTINGAfter seven tank treatment powder coating colour Siemens grey.IV) EARTH PITS,ERATH FLATS AND CABLES LAYING:
A) Cables:1. The 185sqmm, 3 core XLPE 11KV HT cable 180 meters(for each Transformers 60meters approx); Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the cable which willconnecting from New Transformers to Existing sf6 HT Breakers with use of on both sideindoor Heat shrink joint kit .Cable Make shall be Poly cab and indoor kit shall be M-sealmake.
2. Required Control cables (length Approx.200meters) for Protection of threetransformers which is connecting from new transformers to Existing SF6 breakers andthe size and core of the cable as recommended by the Kirloskar Company in contractorscope. (Supply, erection, testing and commissioning work). Cable MAKE: Glostar,Polycab.3. The laying of 240 sqmm, 31/2 core aluminum armored cable 2800 meters from thenew PCC panel to Bi-products section expansion unit as per our requirement. Thesupply of the cable is developer/company scope.4. The civil works involved during execution of the cable work shall be contractor scopeB) Earth pits & Earth Flats:Supply, erection, testing & commissioning of earth pits and earth flats.1. Earth Pits Shall be provided for the New supplied transformers, Bus duct, New PCCpanel- 18No’s2. Each Transformers shall be- 4 No’s (2no’s for Body earth 2no’s for Neutral earth) forthe 3no’s transformers total -12 no’s will come.3. Bust Duct Earth Pits shall be – 3No’s.4. New PCC Panel Earth Pits shall be-3 No’s.5. The Erath pipe shall be use Cast Iron pipe 3inch dia, 6 feet length.6. The chemical uses for the earthing shall be meet CEIG standards.7. The G.I Earth flat shall be used for the all body earth and G.I flat current carrying shallbe 2 times of rated capacity of the equipment is to be connected.8. The Copper Flat shall be used for the Transformer Neutral and copper flat currentcarrying shall be two times of the rated capacity of the equipment is to be connected.9. The civil works related to the earth pits shall be contractor scope.10. The Earth Resistance for connected Equipments shall be less than 1 ohm is to beshown to the developer/company.Note: 1.If any alteration is required during project execution in the way of civil as
well as Electrical side work will be contractor scope for which no price
enhancement. Hence please make sure that before quote the price, the contractor
should have visit the site and know the exact requirement.
