Srikishan Sarda College popularly known as S S College is one o f the leading colleges o f Assam. Since its inception, the college has been catering to the educational need o f the students. With the passage o f time many changes have occurred but the college has retained its mission o f imparting education amidst all hardship and hurdles. I feel elated to mention that the college has been re-accredited as Grade ‘A’ with CGPA 3.12 by NAAC in the year 2011. At present the college is preparing for the next visit o f the NAAC team. It is hoped that the college will again attain the same gradation with more CGPA and the teaching, non-teaching staff, students, parents and guardians o f the students and also the alumni will extend their help and full support to that effect so as to enhance and retain the pride and glory o f this prestigious institution o f Hailakandi.
I firm ly believe that the students o f this C ollege will have a big future prospect under the able, caring guidance and leadership o f the teachers o f the institution.
A student o f this college has varied options o f courses to opt for. A t present college is running w ith three stream s viz Science, A rts and Com m erce. Though we have becom e successful to start TDC com m erce stream but w e have not ye t been able to start C om m erce Steam for HS Students. The college, thus, strives hard to open the sam e in near future.
I also hope that this College will keep its onw ard m arch o f progress to shape the character and m inds o f the future generation o f students
At the end, I w ould like to acknow ledge the services o f those w hose untiring efforts have helped the college to reach its present status o f success and glory.

About the College........Srikishan Sarda College, Hailakandi, was established on 18th September 1950. It is one

The donor of the land of the college was Late Pratap Chandra Nath and the founder Principal of the college was Late Sisir Kar Shastri. Initially the college was started with Arts Stream and it was affiliated to Gauhati University in the year 1956. The college started progressing by leaps and bounds and in course of time science stream was opened to cater to the needs of the students. Since its humble beginning, the college has been endeavouring hard to spread the light of higher education among the students and to lift the humanity from the bog and morass of ignorance. At present the college is equipped with Classrooms alongwith Smart Classroom, Science laboratories, Auditorium hall, Computer laboratories, Seminar hall, Central library, N.S.S., Sports Cell, Health Services, N.C.C and experienced faculty members.
The college is now affiliated to Assam University, Silchar, a Central University constituted under the Act XII of parliament in the year 1994. The College has been reaccredited as Grade ‘A’ with CGPA 3.12 by the NAAC in 2011.
The college has been provided with STAR COLLEGE Scheme by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi. All the Science departments of the college are now supported by DBT under STAR COLLEGE Scheme. Moreover Department of Science and Technology (DST) has extended its academic support to the science department of the college under its North East Special FIST programme.

Also the whole college campus has been brought under Wi-Fi network for the easy access to internet facilities. Student and teacher of the institution are quite able to avail the internet facilities.
To facilitate the teachng learning process, teachers of the college had been provided with laptop by the college. The college also arranges games and sports, excursion / field trips, campus interviews and distance education.
Besides, realizing the urgent need and constraint of the students, TDC Commerce Stream, Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), B.Sc Biotechnology, Ecology and Environmental Science have also been started in the college, so that students aspiring to take degrees in the above mentioned subjects need not go outside.
The sole and primary objective of the college is to prepare the students to face the ever increasing challenges of their surroundings with the latest knowledge of education.
