Annunciation of the Lord
While this is not a day of obligation, it is a very im-portant day in the church calendar! Without Mary's simple "Yes!" to God when he asked through the angel Gabriel to be a mother of the Messiah, we have no idea where we would be today! Come and join us for Mass at 7:00 p.m. this Monday, April 9 to celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary's life changing response to God.

A Big Thank You! Thank you to all who prepared and served at our Holy Week and Easter liturgies, especially lectors, servers, cantors, choir, decorators, gift families, ushers, and bell ringers! You helped us worship so well this past week. Also, a big thank you to Father Jim, the parish staff, and parishioners who have helped throughout the past few weeks (and throughout the year) cleaning the church, preparing bulletins, flower donations, and odd jobs to get our church ready for Easter.
Tootsie Rolls
The K.C.’s will be selling Tootsie Rolls after all Masses the next few weekends. Remember to bring extra cash! The proceeds will go to the Hodan Center.

Fr. Jim’s Suggestions
We will now resume read-ing the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Before Holy Week, we completed pages 275-311 (CCC 971-
1098). For the week of April 8 we'll read pages 311-346 (CCC 1099-1228) which starts with the Holy Spirit recalling the mystery of Christ and ends with baptism. If you're reading ahead, during the week of April 15 we'll focus on pages 346-383 (CCC 1229-1372). Copies of the Catechism are $6 and are available at each parish office or can found in a basket by St. Mary's/Paul's vigil candles.
Book Suggestions
Preserving the Sanctity of Marriage, by Rev. W. Becket Soule
This 20 page booklet (available to borrow from the St. Mary's/Paul's office or online at http://www.kofc.org/en/resources/cis/cis301.pdf) explains the Catholic teachings on annulments.
Getting to the Other Side of Grief, Overcom-ing the Loss of a Spouse, by Susan Zonnebelt-Smeegne and Robert De Vries
Losing a spouse is something no one wants to im-agine. Psychologist Susan Zonnebelt-Smeenge and pastor/professor Robert De Vries provide much needed support from a unique perspective - empa-thy. They each suffered the loss of their spouse at a relatively young age. Throughout Getting to the Other Side of Grief, the authors share their stories as living proof that if worked through properly, grief will lead the way to a fresh new life.
Movie: I Can Only Imagine You may have heard the song, but you probably don't know the story behind it. Dennis Quaid and Cloris Leachman star in this inspiring and true story behind Mercy Me's beloved, chart topping song that brings hope and is also a gripping reminder of the power of true forgiveness. In theaters now.
