Welcome back to our new school year. The children have returned to
school looking smart in their new uniforms. They have shown fantastic
attitudes to work and I am looking forward to a rewarding year.
We have implemented a change to end of day procedures, where par-
ents now come onto the playground to collect their children. The gate
will be open for access from 3.10 and please wait on the right side of
the playground for your child to be dismissed to you by their teacher.
Yr/1 and YN will continue to be collected from the nursery door.
Next week we celebrate the 100 birthday of Roald Dahl. All classes
are currently studying a Roald Dahl book as part of their English work.
On Tuesday 13th September children are invited to come to school
dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character.
Y5/6 are reading The BFG
Y4/5 are reading George’s Marvellous Medicine
Y3/4 are reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory
Y1/2 are reading Fantastic Mr Fox
And YR/1 are looking at revolting rhymes.
Can I please remind parents of the importance of not blocking the en-
trance gate to school. Just outside there is a small wall which seems
to be a gathering area. When there is a large group of adults it is dif-
ficult to pass and people often have to walk into the road to pass by.
Many congratulations to our newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl.
Lucas Hartley and Grace Lee– Sinclair have been voted by their peers
for this prestigious role and I know they will be a great help to me this
year.

School Uniform Policy
Girls
Grey skirt, grey trousers or grey pinafore dress, white shirt or polo shirt,
plain white socks/plain dark tights , maroon cardigan or sweatshirt or fleece,
Sensible dark low heeled shoes – no trainers/no fashion boots.
Boys
Grey trousers or grey shorts, white shirt or polo shirt, grey socks, maroon jumper or sweatshirt.
Sensible dark school shoes – no trainers.
Please note sweatshirts, polo shirts and fleeces should bear the school logo.
Little Learners (Nursery) Uniform
Amber polo shirt (with logo)

Photographs / Video Notice to parents
At school we allow parents to take photographs and videos during assemblies and
performances and events. These images are for your own personal use and they should
not be placed on any social networking or internet site. While we appreciate that you
may want to share your celebration, can we request you take a photo of your child after
assemblies to ensure no other children are in these images. If parents do not abide by
these decisions we may be forced in the future to stop anyone taking photos during
these events.
Please try and encourage your child to try a cooked meal at lunchtime.
The cost is £2.15 for a school dinner. Please remember that dinner mon-
ey should be paid in advance preferably on a Monday morning.

Glee Club will resume w/c 19th September 2016. 3:15 –4.00pm for Y3/4/5/6
Craft Club will commence on Thursdays for years 3/4 w/b 19th September 2016—limited
spaces.
Drama Club will commence on Thursdays for Year 2 commencing w/b 19th September
2016.—limited spaces
Phonics club will commence on Thursdays for Rec/Year 1 w/b 19th September 2016—

Boys football will resume w/c 19th September and will be during lunch time
