Everything that can happen in a year.

First, I worked five months as an intern for Studio Knox in Stockholm.Studio Knox is a young, highly ambitious graphic design studio. It was founded by Chris Knox, a british designer from Scotland.

The studio’s main philosophy is that good graphic design should be user-centric and that the audience is placed at the core of all design solutions.

.Later that year, Studio Besau Marguerre invited me to join them for six

months. The experimental workflow with materials, colors, concepts and products are the speciality of Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau.

The studio’s main goal is to circle around, product design, interior design, architecture, trend development, sustainable design and graphic design.

Today, almost one year later my ambition has not changed. Design thinking keeps me inspired and motivated every day in creating meaningful and

sincere design to people. I am happy that this year happend.

STUdio KnoX

Studio Knox is a young, highly ambitious

graphic design studio. it was founded by

Chris Knox, a british designer from Scotland.

The studio's main philosophy is that good

graphic design should be user-centric and

that the audience is placed at the core of

all design results and solutions.

Fundamentally it also works on the belief

that innovative and sustainable design is

created from the combination of both traditional

and future reference points. This means that a

conscious decision has been made

to reject current stylistic trends in favour of

proven graphical approaches.

deSiGner

Chris Knox MFa is a British graphic designer

who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1981.

He has extensive professional experience

within graphic design, providing skills which are

applied to all the studio's projects. This great

experience is also complemented by detailed

knowledge gained in his educational back-

ground in the same design field.

GladH&co

Gladh&Co is an multidisciplinary event

agency operating in Stockholm, Sweden.

The company was founded by anna Gladh

in 2006. The concept and goal of Gladh&Co

is to be a smart platform for the creation of

exclusive events in a very professional way.

THe worK

We were asked to design a new graphic identity

and a set of communication tools for

Gladh&Co. The style of the identity should be

simpler, cleaner and than the existing identity.

Gladh&Co's aim is to appear »professional« and

»exclusive« to their clients.

it may appear »retro« but not »bling bling«.

The logotype/identity needs to be applied to

primarily to communication tools like the web-

site, business cards, and ipad/mac presenta-

tion – but should also take into account how

it might be applied to letterhead, a signboard,

stickers and envelopes.

We Own The City /

ciTieS | we own THe ciTy

CiTiES is a foundation based in amsterdam.

Their mission is to develop a platform to bring

urban issues back to citizens'. CiTiES has been

working on many national and international

urban analyses and development projects.

THe worK

WeOwnTheCity was a collaboration work

between the aRCaM team, CiTiES, an

urban research collective and Studio Knox.

The output was an exhibition at amsterdam

architecture Centre in autumn 2012.

We were asked to give the exhibition a graphic

identity. More than that we had to plan and

build the whole exhibition with a small budget.

The structure of the the exhibition is based

around a series of steel frames over which

bright yellow fabrics netting has been stret-

ched. These bright, semi-transparent walls

helped divide the space and encourage

visitors to move through the exhibition.

The exhibition is also scheduled to go to

Brussels, Marseille and Hong Kong.

STUdio BeSaU marGUerre

Material experiments, innovative color schemes

and creative staging: the collaboration work of

Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau is fascina-

ting. it's no wonder that the product designers

established their own studio in may 2011 and

benefi t from their combined resources.

The two designers' diversifi ed styles and wor-

king methods incessantly give rise to innovative

concepts and eye-catching implementations

ranging from visual communication over pro-

duct design to interior design.

Everything's coming from one source.

deSiGnerS

Eva Marguerre loves working with paper, rib-

bons, wooden materials, smooth surfaces and

colors. at fi rst, it is the detail catching her eyes:

sensually grasping the objects, refi ning and

transforming them into something excellent.

This is what makes her work for magazines and

also her stool series »nido« so distinctive.

Marcel Besau combines digital with analog

technology: the mixture of human thought

processes, classic crafts and precision machine

work is his focal point. For him the essence of

his work with generative computer programs

lies especially in the variety of inputs and occa-

sionally in the ensuing unprecedented results.

COLORS

Looking from a distance, the glaring »nido« Stools seem to

be fragile, anyhow, while sitting on them, they turn out to be

very robust. Form and function ot the stools are interwoven

so successfully, owing to their light construction of fi breglass.

Tensnake /

TenSnaKe

Marco niemerski, known professionally as

Tensnake, is a German DJ and music producer

from Hamburg. He is best known for his 2010

track »Coma Cat«, which appeared on at least

15 compilations that year.

THe worK

We made a redesign of the existing logotype

and created a new layout for the website. after

this we had the pleasure to shape tshirt motives

and to develop a vinyl cover for the new album.

For the upcoming album-release-party in de-

cemeber 2012, we created a fl yer based on the

new logotype and the new color world.

Tensnake started as a digital project. But during

the process the project became more like an

analog work. The paper logotype is cut in lay-

ers. Every layer has its own color surface. The

paper surface is painted with color sprays.

We spent days over days trying to get the right

shape, proportions and color concepts. in the

end, it is a joyful, haptic and colorful solution

made out of colored paper.
