SSS STEM SIA ONE WORLD SUGGESTIONS
Please use these suggestions to design your SSS STEM SIA activities
The information provided is not prescriptive but will hopefully provide you with some ideas of the types of activities
you could undertake.
Where a suggestion has an Asterix (*) this means that there are parts of the OAS that can be incorporated into this
SIA activity.
Use the suggestions to write out your SIA. Remember that the point of the SIAs is to develop you knowledge and
skills in an area over an above what you already know. For example, the Minecraft SSS Campsite challenge. If you
have never used Minecraft before then what you will create will be very different to if you have been on it for 5
years. Take this into consideration as you are writing your SIA. If you’re familiar with creative you might try survival
instead etc. Modify the examples as appropriate for individual scouts.
For each SIA there are a list of various resources. Again they are just suggestions to get you started without being
overwhelmed. You can of course use different information and sources.
Make sure you get your SIA approved by troop council before SSS.
There are 20 different suggestions under a number of different categories so hopefully you will find a couple that
peak your curiosity.
