Dear Parents This Wednesday night we will be holding Stations of the Cross at our school between 7-8pm. This has been a respectful and popular event when we have held this before. Everyone is welcome to come along and have a walk through of the Stations.
We have been working with the RTA looking at our drop-off zone-car park. This has come about as parents have complained about the traffic not flow-ing. This was always designed to have parents in their cars at pick up time while teachers bring the children to the black gate. When a parent arrives and parks their car, your child tells the teachers who then lets the child walk along the path and they get into their car. This allows a consistent traffic flow for parents lining up. This is important from about 3-3.20pm as this is the busiest time. Observations show that some parents are parking and coming into the courtyard to get children and can get caught up in conversations with other parents and therefore taking up carparks for too long a time period. We will look more into this situation but we might need to ask parents not to come into the school to collect their children but to wait in your car for teach-ers to bring the children to the gate. This seems like a logical way of improv-ing and returning our carpark to a drop off and pick up zone, especially be-tween 3-3.20pm. Your support is appreciated.
I hope every family gets an opportunity to celebrate Easter and have some quality time together. A reminder that our times for the Sacred Heart celebra-tions are included in this newsletter. Also that this Sunday there is only on Mass at 9.30am and the Parish will be trialling this format of a 9.30am mass on Sundays for the next six months.
Today we are sending home a separate note regarding NAPLAN with all the children in Years 3 and 5.
Thank you to all the parents who supported our Cross Country event last week and to Mr Lewis for co-ordinating the day.
We are having a Working Bee on Thursday, 30th April from 3.30-6pm, Jobs will include concrete edging, spreading bark-chips, fixing watering systems and repairing outside tables. If we can get a few helpers it wont be a big job. If you have talent in these areas please let Tina know and she will contact Mick Redfern who is co-ordinating the work.
Thank you to all our staff for their hard work this term, to our students for their hard work and the support of families. Have a great break, keep smiling Bede A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was the perfect act.
