On behalf of the Anglican Central Education Authority, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the family of St. Anne’s School.
The Anglican Central Education Authority (ACEA) offers in a safe environment a well-rounded educational product that fosters the development of students’ spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional well-being thereby affording their relevancy and adaptability for future citizenship and life in an ever changing global environment.
Through workshops and seminars, the faculty and staff will be provided with the necessary tools to work in accordance with the stated goals and objectives. We firmly believe that if all members of the school family: teachers, parents, students and board members work together we can achieve the goals and objectives as stated below, By the Grace of God.
To promote a Christian philosophy of life by encouraging students to know God and to have a daily relationship with Him.
To prepare students for Christian service in the Church and wider community.
To produce competent individuals who can compete successfully in all aspects of education and to promote in them a zeal for excellence.
To inculcate in students positive qualities of character that lead to self-discipline, integrity and good citizenship.
To develop in students a respect for the human body as the temple of the Lord, thereby discouraging any form of abuse and encouraging their commitment to realize to the fullest, a healthy mind in a healthy body.
To foster in all students a knowledge of and love for their environment and the wider world in which we live and to develop in them a sense of responsibility for the preservation of nature.
Again…Welcome to St. Anne’s School - The School of Champions and the Home of The Mighty Blue Waves!
Cynthia L. Wells Principal
Reminder: School fees Please be advised that ALL outstanding fees from the previous school year 2016 – 2017 will have to be paid in

School fees for Michaelmas Term 2017 were due August 1, 2017. There was a grace period of 30 days and therefore all fees for the first term not paid in full by August 31, 2017 will incur late charges. If you are unable to pay fees in full then you are encouraged to join the monthly payment. If these requirements are not met, please do not send your child to school. THE DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM
The Disciplinary System is designed to act as a deterrent for negative behaviour. Its ultimate aim is to develop self-discipline in students.
In September 1999, the Anglican School System adopted the
violence prevention and intervention programme, Respect &
Protect developed by The Johnson Institute. Its foundation is the principle that everyone is obliged to respect and protect the rights of others and has NO tolerance for violence. It promotes a system wide belief that, Violence is not acceptable – We do not tolerate it here.
THE PURPOSE: to give students, parents, staff, and the community at large a clear statement concerning the school’s position against weapons and violent behaviour.
OBJECTIVES
To ensure the safety of students and staff, their property, and the property of the school.
To maintain a safe, supportive, nurturing, no punitive school environment highly conducive to learning
The Respect & Protect Coordinators are Mrs. Carla Smith (SD) and Ms.Kervinique Ferguson (PD)
DEFINITION OF VIOLENCE
Violence is any mean word, look, sign, or act
that hurts a person’s body, feelings, or things
The act need not be deliberate; unintentional violence is included and subject to the consequences.
No one is entitled to be violent. No form of violence will be
tolerated from anybody at school, on school-sponsored
transportation, or at school-sponsored activities away from
school.
VIOLENCE IS NOT TOLERATED AT OUR SCHOOL.
STATEMENT OF POLICY ON WEAPONS No one shall use, threaten to use, possess, sell,
distribute, or store any weapons or weapon look-alike in a school facility, in a school vehicle, in or on any other school property, or at any school-sponsored function at
any other location.
DEFINITION OF A WEAPON A weapon is defined as any object that, by its design, use, intended use, or brandishing could cause bodily harm or property damage or could intimidate other persons. Weapons include, but are not limited to, firearms (whether loaded or unloaded, whether
operational or not)
TEXTBOOKS Secondary students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks. We are aware that a few books are not available in the local stores and will make adjustments for assignments in the meantime.

WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG
All children must study and learn within the protective framework of the home and school. However, for many people, both in the home and in the school, the only time that we ever come together or have contact is when there is a problem - when there is trouble.
Please, do not wait to contact the school until a minor problem has become a major incident. Handle a problem while it is still a candle flame rather than a huge fire. Let me give offer a few positive steps that may be taken toward that goal.
STEP 1: Contact the Teacher
If there is something concerning your child that you don’t understand; something that you perceive as a problem, don’t just think about it - get the facts. Contact the teacher involved. I promise you that a call to a teacher in this school will be answered just as soon as possible. Experience has shown that, immediate contact between the home and teacher will set things straight in almost all cases.
STEP 2: Contact the Guidance Counselor
If this first procedure does not satisfy you, then contact the Guidance Counselor. Why? Because, they are trained to arbitrate problems - that’s their job. The counselor can set up a face-to-face meeting between you and anyone else in this school and be present to ensure that everything runs as it should. What a great alternative to sitting alone and allowing doubt and suspicion to build to the point where the real problem is obscured and untouchable.
STEP 3: Contact Administration
Finally, if you receive no satisfaction anywhere else, call the administration. We are aware that part of our mission is to act as an aide to you, the parents of the children. If you contact the administration, I promise that we will hear you out, listen impartially to what you have to say, and work unrelentingly with you to bring the problem to a satisfactory solution.
Let us work together to find solutions to problems.
Need to meet with a teacher? Here are the best times!

How to Set Up your Edline Account To begin using your Edline account right now, just follow these easy steps:
1. Make sure you have your personal Edline Activation Code. You will get this code from someone at your school or
it might be printed at the bottom of this sheet.
2. Go to www.edline.net and Click on ‘Click here if you have a new activation code’
To see pictures and directions of steps 3 and 4, click the Help button at the top of the Edline page.
Follow instructions, or for more information click the ‘Print an account setup guide’ link.
3. Fill in your Activation Code. Your school may give you one parent code for each child. If you receive

already have an account, click "New Account" if this is your first time using Edline. If you already have an Edline account, click "Combine Accounts" to add this child to your existing account.
5. On the last account activation page, print the "Student/Parent Quick-Start Guide" so you can make the
most of Edline. After this, you no longer need your Activation Code - you will always use your Screen Name and Password to access Edline. Don't share this information with anyone!

Dear Parents & Guardians, We wish to bring to your attention and, at the same time, remind you of the new policies that have been adopted by the Anglican Central Education Authority (ACEA) which took effect from 31
st August 2015. These policies are
necessary in order for us to operate on a sound financial basis while continuing to serve students. The ACEA’s policy is as follows:
School fees are due by the first day of each term. Students who do not present a bank slip will not be permitted to enter the classrooms and parents will be asked to collect them from school.
Students will not be able to receive report cards, awards, or transcripts unless ALL outstanding fees are paid in full.
Where accounts are in arrears for more than 30 days, the ACEA requires withdrawal.
STUDENTS WITH OUTSTANDING FEES FROM THE 2016-17 YEAR WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO
CLASSES IN SEPTEMBER UNTIL THE DEBT IS SETTLED.
We regret having to implement these stringent measures but they are necessary since the Diocesan schools continue to run at a deficit which the Diocese has to fund each year. This is further exacerbated by late payment of fees. We are nonetheless committed to working with you since we want to continue to serve your family.
We encourage you to sign up for the yearly payment plan which is available effective August through March for
the 2017/18 school year. If fees are not paid in full and you do not have a payment plan then your child
will not be admitted to classes. Please make a concerted effort to keep your accounts current.
Sincerely,
Italia Davies (Mrs.) - Director
