As you can see our attendance
at mass continues to grow each
week. We now have approxi-
mately 5,300 people at mass
each week. Those who come
to mass a few minutes late
know that most times it is
now impossible to find an
empty seat to sit! For the
Sundays of Lent until the
Second Sunday of Easter we
will offer mass at 10 am in
the chapel in Spanish. Those
who attend a Spanish mass
on Sundays are asked to take
note of this new mass at 10
am in the chapel. The first
mass will begin on Sunday,
March 10th at 10 am in the
Chapel (Ithaca)

Dear Friends,
What to do for Lent? Sacrifice something special? Do the extra for
someone else? Pray more? Read and study the Bible? Go to mass every Sunday
and once or twice during the week? There are many things we can do this Lent.
I encourage you…let’s not procrastinate (like the promises we make for the New
Year) let’s do something and work hard at achieving whatever we resolve. As we
enter Lent I urge you to think about what you will do –now to make THIS Lent a time
of grace in your life! Here are some of the things we offer here at the parish:
¿Qué hacer para la Cuaresma? Sacrificar algo especial? ¿Hacer algo por
los demas? Orar mas? Lee y estudiar la Biblia?¿Ir a misa todos los domingos y una
o dos veces durante la semana? Hay muchas cosas que podemos hacer esta
Cuaresma. Te animo ... no posterguemos (como las promesas que hacemos para el
Año Nuevo) hagamos algo y trabajemos duro para lograr lo que sea que
resolvamos. Mientras nos preparamos para la Cuaresma , les pido que piensen en lo
que harán, ahora, para hacer de esta Cuaresma un tiempo de gracia en su vida.

CHINESE MASS
华人教友的好消息 圣巴尔多禄茂堂区每月第一个主日和第
三个主日，下午1：30 在小教堂弥撒. 此外，每周二晚上

Good news for our Chinese Catholic community in Elmhurst. St Bartholomew Parish will be offering mass in Chinese on the First and Third Sundays of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca St). Also, the Chinese community will gather every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the chapel – Ithaca St. Please join us.
INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca St). Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated today February 24 at 3 pm. All are welcome to attend.
TAGALOG MASS On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca Street). The next mass will be celebrated March 17. All are welcome to attend.
BENGALI/BURMESE MASS These two communities gather on the first Sunday of the month for a bilingual mass at 4:30 pm in the chapel. following the mass there is a gathering with light refreshments in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated Sunday, March 3.
NEED A LETTER FROM
YOUR CHURCH?
In order to give letters of recommendation,
letters attesting to character, sponsor
certificates, and other documents that may
have legal or religious purposes, it is
required that persons requesting those
documents be registered and be active
members of Saint Bartholomew Parish
at least three months prior to your
request. We can not provide any
of these documents to people not
registered in the parish.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
There are two times every Saturday for
confessions in the main church: 4 pm and
6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the
Chapel. We now have two priests assigned
during these times to make it convenient
and less time to wait. Please do your
part…. come as close as possible to these
confession times. Take advantage of this
wonderful opportunity of God’s
mercy and love.
