St Bernard’s school library doesn’t just have
books . . .
We have a growing collection of audio CDs and a large selection of DVDs, some of which compliment the books on the shelves (like Of Mice and Men, Northern Lights, Oliver Twist, Wuthering Heights, BFG, Great Expectations, and the Diary of Ann Frank), some are informative such as Planet Earth, Blue Planet, the Secret Life of Plants and lots of other David Attenborough wildlife programmes, and some are purely for fun!
There’s a section of career resources including prospectus’, apprentice information, and helpful DVDs about ‘Interview Techniques’,’ CV’s in the real world’, ‘Different ways to find that job’, ‘Self-esteem’ and ‘Twenty first century jobs’.
There are revision books and helpful examination hints, plus information and educational DVDs such as poetry (Seamus Heaney and Carol Ann Dufy), history (Dr Martin Luther King, the Story of slavery and Victorian Britain), and Famous Author DVDs about Austin, Dickens, Orwell and Shakespeare.
Along with all this, there are 9 computers for homework and school research purposes and a colour printer.
There are regular classes held in the library now. The library is usually open to students each break and lunchtime.
