St. Catharines, ON - Pathway of Peace Rev. Thabet & Wafaa Megaly There are some mission fields that seem al- most impenetrable. The Muslim world may seem that way for some. Pathway to Peace, with the blessing of God, is making exciting inroads in its ministry to Muslims and others. Our ministry uses the resources that God provides - ranging from modern technology to a hot cup of coffee - to spread His Word abroad. Here are some of the ways that we are reaching out: TELEVISION OUTREACH (Arabic): We broadcast a weekly one- hour television program in Arabic. The program compares the teachings of Islam with the Bible. It is a way of bringing the Gospel message to the Arabic communities around the world. The broadcast is live (in real time), which allows for audience participation through a call-in program. The show is broadcast- ed each week (Monday) from St. Catharines (Trinity URC) via a television station in California. Through this program the Lord is changing lives. TELEVISION OUTREACH (English): We also broadcast a monthly one-hour television program in English. The program compares the teachings of Islam with the Bible through an interview for- mat. Various area ministers have taken part along with other experts on Islam and Christianity. We give thanks to the Lord because viewers are coming to understand the Word of God and know the true and living God. FELLOWSHIP CAFÉ AND SPORTS: Fellowship Cafe continues each Friday evening at Trinity URC in St. Catharines. It begins at 7:30 pm. Anyone is welcome to attend. The format includes casual conversa- tion along with refreshments and snacks. A topic is usually intro- duced at some point during the evening to al- low for a more focused discus- sion. This seg- ment closes with prayer. The evening wraps up around 9 pm. Vis- itors come from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds, along with participants from other area churches. This approach to relationship evangelism is bearing fruit. We held a soccer event last autumn and many people along with international students from Brock University came to play, enjoy food and the message. We have four students from China who knew nothing about Christ or the Bible who have attended our Christianity Explored program and have been attending Trinity worship services. TRIP TO INDONESIA: Rev. Megaly travelled to Indonesia (Pres- byterian Church) to teach and train church leaders, pastors and seminary students in October 2018. He taught in two seminaries, trained, and preached in several churches. With local leaders, he visited a mosque and shared the gospel in coffee shops and streets. Pastor Megaly was asked to return in 2019 if funds are available. PRESENTATIONS: Those interested in learning about Islam and ways for Christians to share the Gospel with their neighbours are welcome to ask Pastor Thabet Megaly to make a presentation at your church, speak at a congregational meeting, lead a seminar for an evangelism committee, or discuss this work of ministry with the church leadership. Pathway of Peace will help you to find practical and simple ways to reach out the lost. Thank you for your prayers and support. Rev. St. Catharines, ON - Pathway of Peace

Rev. Thabet & Wafaa Megaly

There are some mission fields that seem al-most impenetrable. The Muslim world may seem that way for some. Pathway to Peace, with the blessing of God, is making exciting inroads in its ministry to Muslims and others. Our ministry uses the resources that God provides - ranging from modern technology to a hot cup of coffee - to spread His Word abroad. Here are some of the ways that we are reaching out:

TELEVISION OUTREACH (Arabic): We broadcast a weekly one-hour television program in Arabic. The program compares the teachings of Islam with the Bible. It is a way of bringing the Gospel message to the Arabic communities around the world. The broadcast is live (in real time), which allows for audience participation through a call-in program. Various area ministers have taken part along with other experts on Islam and Christianity. FELLOWSHIP CAFÉ AND SPORTS: Fellowship Cafe continues each Friday evening at Trinity URC in St. Catharines. It begins at 7:30 pm. Anyone is welcome to attend. The format includes

casual conversa-tion along with refreshments and snacks. A topic is usually intro-duced at some point during the evening to al-low for a more focused discus-sion. This seg-

ment closes with prayer. The evening wraps up around 9 pm. Vis-itors come from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds, along with participants from other area churches.

Bucharest, RomaniaRev. Mihai & Lidia Corcea

Dear brothers and sisters of the United Reformed Churches, Greetings from Romania! By God’s grace, our church planting work continues here in Bucha-rest. In recent months, we were encouraged to see new visitors attend our meetings but we were also glad to see that our exist-ing visitors are growing in faith and understanding.

We continue meeting new people through our Friday night out-reach meetings, but also through social media and through the publishing ministry. We are also blessed through a Belgic confes-sion study during our Sunday school which is a good opportunity for our visitors to learn about Reformed theology. Although the progress of our work is slow, we are glad whenever we encoun-ter opportunities to proclaim the Gospel and we are encouraged when we see the Word yielding fruit.

I was also glad for the opportu-nity to build relationships with ministers from the historic Hungarian Reformed Church which has many congrega-tions in Transylvania (North-West of Romania). Last month, I was invited by one of those churches to preach there. In the 401-year history of that congregation, this was the first Romanian language ser-vice they held. Romanians and

Hungarians living together in Transylvania have had many ethnic tensions in the past, but we are encouraged to see that faith in the Gospel makes us put other things aside. As any old denomina-tion, they have experienced many ups and downs, but I am glad to see that their interest in Reformed theology is still alive.

As the snow is melting away and Bucharest is coming back to life, we are praying for several projects we hope to carry out this year. In April, we plan to finish the translation work and publish a book on the history of the Protestant Reformation. In May, we will organize a retreat with other Reformed and Presbyterian church planters from Romania and other European countries. In June, we hope to welcome our first intern to help in our church planting work during the summer season. This year we also plan to orga-nize a broader conference celebrating 400 years since the Synod of Dort.

In the month of January, I visited several churches in Pennsylva-nia, Michigan and Iowa. It was a very encouraging trip as I was reminded that although we are isolated on the mission field, we have a great church family which is keeping us in prayer.

Thank you all for your prayers and support! Please keep our city and our country in your prayers. We pray the Lord will continue to use our unworthy efforts to advance his kingdom in this part of the world.

Warmly in Christ, Rev. Mihai Corcea
