NEW ARCHDIOCESAN COVID PROTOCOLSAs of Saturday, May 22, 2021, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo has adjusted the Covid-19-related modifications to the cele-bration of the Sacred Liturgy in the Archdiocese. In that light, please note the following important information: • The Church is allowed to have 100% capacity. Although the archdiocesan policy does not recommend social

distancing in the church, it is still very much encouraged in the church as a courtesy to others. Additionally, all doors will be opened for parishioners to enter and exit and sign-ins will no longer be taken.

• Those who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask “out of charity for others” but masks are not required to attend the liturgy.

• The Cry Room is available. The nursery remains closed pending further guidance and instruction from the arch-diocese.

• We will resume the passing of the collection plates for the Offertory at Mass per archdiocesan recommendation.• Although the temporary suspension of receiving Holy Communion on the tongue is removed, it is still strongly en-

couraged that you receive the Body of Christ on your hand. Ministers of the Eucharist will wear masks during the distribution of Holy Communion.

• The temporary suspension of receiving Holy Communion under the appearance of wine from a common chalice remains in effect until further notice.

• For the time being, the general dispensation from the Sunday obligation remains in effect for all Catholics within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. We will continue our current livestream schedule for those who prefer attending Mass at home.

• The baptismal font will remain empty for the time being. Bottles of Holy Water are available at the Pastoral Office during office hours.

NUEVOS PROTOCOLOS DE COVID DE LA ARCHIDIOCESISA partir del sábado 22 de mayo de 2021, el Cardenal Daniel DiNardo ha ajustado las modificaciones relacionadas con Covid-19 en cuanto a la celebración de la Sagrada Liturgia en la Arquidiócesis. Por lo tanto, tenga en cuenta la siguiente información importante: • Se permite que la Iglesia tenga el 100% de su capacidad. Aunque la política arquidiocesana no recomienda

As a reminder from the Office of Child and Youth Protection, the Archdiocesen Safe Environment compliance train-ing and renewal training is a condition of employment and for volunteer ministry in the Archdiocese of Galves-ton-Houston. All clergy, employees, contracted school personnel, volunteers, members of groups, movements, and organizations over the age of 18, who work, volunteer or participate in any capacity are required to complete the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training and a criminal background check before they may begin employment or volunteer activities.

In addition, the mandatory renewal training must be completed every five years and a new background check submitted before the five year expiration of prior training.
