St. Claire Regional Medical Center
St. Claire Regional (SCR) recently held an open house at our new pediatrics location at 716 W. Main St. Nearly 70 current and prospective patients and family members turned out to take a look at our newly renovated facility. The event featured face painting, refreshments, gift bags and guided tours of the building from staff who served as “safari guides,” playing along with the office’s fun new theme.
State Rep. Rocky Adkins made an appearance at the open house and offered praise to SCR for its latest addition. “This excellent facility has been designed to create a fun environment for our children while they receive exceptional care,” he says.
The new location, formerly Wheatley Orthodontics, was designed with our patients in mind. The office offers all new furnishings, fun themed rooms and separate waiting areas for sick and well children.
SCR’s board-certified pediatricians, Nancy J. Henly, MD, and Miroslawa E. Sikorska, MD, provide high-quality healthcare for infants and children of all ages, from birth to age 18. Well-child visits, physicals and follow-up appointments can be made by phone, or online through the St. Claire Regional MyHealth Patient Portal! We know scheduling an appointment
can be stressful when your child is sick, so we also welcome walk-ins and same day appointments. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call 606.780.5364.

St. Claire Regional is proud to welcome Anna Johnson, DO, and Branden Quinlan, DO, to our internal medicine medical staff. Both Johnson and Quinlan began seeing patients Aug. 1 at our Morehead Medical Specialists’ location.
Johnson and Quinlan graduated in 2013 from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed their internal medicine residen-cies at UK HealthCare. They met during the first year of medical school and got married after graduating. The couple says that going through the rigors of medical school and residency as a team made them stronger people and better doctors.
Johnson is a native of Breathitt County and earned her bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University. “I’m very familiar with this area and with St. Claire Regional. Providing quality healthcare in Eastern Kentucky where I grew up has always been my goal,” she says.
Quinlan says he can’t wait to begin seeing patients. “I’m excited to live in this area and to help the people of our region,” he says. Quinlan is an avid outdoorsman and says he’s particularly excited to live near Cave Run Lake.
Johnson and Quinlan are both seeing and accepting new patients at St. Claire Regional’s Morehead Medical Specialists location. To schedule an appointment with Johnson, Quinlan or any of our Morehead Medical Specialists providers, call 606.784.6641.

St. Claire Regional’s (SCR) 2016 Relay for Life team raised more than $2,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society. SCR Clinical Nurse Educator and Relay team organizer, Shelly Brown, MSN, RN, said the team even exceeded their original goal by $500!
SCR staff sold T-shirts, held a bake sale, chili lunch and organized a silent auction to raise funds for Rowan County’s Relay for Life, which was held July 23. The team also sold raffle tickets for a quilt that was donated to the cause. Congratulations to SCR 3C Nurse Manager Charlotte Kinney, RN, for being the lucky quilt winner! SCR Relay members also contributed a back-to-school gift basket that was auctioned during the event, handed out tasty watermelon slices to those in attendance, and donated food items for the Relay for Life Survivors’ Dinner.
This year’s Relay featured a superhero theme, with SCR’s team choosing Captain America as their superhero representative! Children in attendance even had the chance to tackle Superhero Training Camp, an obstacle course set up by staff to test their superhero skills.
A big thank you to all community members and SCR employees who helped with the event, either by volunteering, making a donation, or purchasing items at fundraisers. “Our team donated a lot of time and money toward making this event successful,” Brown says. “I’m very proud of them.”
Pictured, from left, are: Michelle Rayburn, RN, clinical nurse educator; Mindy Morris-Sexton, central staffing office manager, Nursing Administration; Sigrid Turner, RN, Cardiology Services patient care coordinator; Shelly Brown, RN, clinical nurse educator; and Regina Thompson, volunteer services director.
St. Claire Regional Relay for Life a big success
