ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY Third Sunday of Lent In today’s Gospel Jesus is quite clear in his message: “bear fruit or be cut down.” This Lent we are called to cul vate and fer lize our spiritual lives through prayer, fas ng and almsgiving. Through your almsgiving you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS EDGE Night The middle school EDGE night will be held on March 28th, from 7:00 – 8:30pm, in the church. This month the EDGE team will present a lesson on the beauty of Eucharis c Adora on. As usu-al, all middle school students are welcome to join. For this special evening, any interested par-ents and parishioners may also join. The front pews will be reserved for students.

ST. JOHN’S SEMINARY Invites you to its Annual Open House for the public Each spring, St. John’s Seminary invites the Catholic community of our Archdiocese to an Open House for the public. This year’s Open House will be on Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Seminary invites you to see its beau ful grounds nestled in the hills of Camarillo. In a tour led by our Archdiocese’s seminarians, guests will have the op-portunity to spend me in the Seminary’s chapel, see its newly restored stained-glass windows and Sta ons of the Cross, view its historic library and – most importantly – visit with seminarians who are studying to be priests for our parishes.

The event is free. Guests are welcome to come to the Open House any me from 1 to 4 p.m. The Semi-nary is located at 5012 Seminary Road, Camarillo 93012. If you have ques ons or would like to let them know you’re a ending, please email [email protected] or call 805-482-2755, ext. 1105. RSVPs are not required.

Since opening its doors in 1939, the Seminary has prepared more than 1,200 priests for service to our Catholic community. This is a wonderful opportuni-ty to see how your prayers help prepare young men to be good and holy priests for our Archdiocese .

Many studies show that a higher percentage of young girls are vulnerable to sexual abuse than young males. Child abuse is a societal problem, and we must be aware of signs that indicate vulnerability or poten ally troubling circumstances – inappropriate rela onships between an adult and a young child, a child demonstra ng signs of abuse by his or her behavior. All children are our responsibility.

Fish Taco Dinner and Lenten Drama Tickets are now on sale for the annual Fish Taco dinner and Lenten Drama. Tickets may be purchased from any 8th grade student or the school office.

An Evening in the Garden - April 27 Come enjoy and evening of music and food in our own Organic Garden on Saturday, April 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale in the school office. Jog-a-Thon Sponsorships Available St. Cornelius School invites you to become an official sponsor of our 10th Annual Jog-A-Thon scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Enrichment will be held for five weeks, Monday thru Friday from June 24 to July 26. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and will include reading and comprehension along with mathema cs and use of the computer lab. The fee is $385 per student. Registra on is due June 1st. The program is open to all public and private school students.

Summer Day Camp Day Camp for students in grades K-8 will be held for eight weeks, June 24 to August 9 Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The weekly fee is $150 plus $25 ac vi es fee per stu-dent. Registra on forms are due by May 20th. Summer Camp is open to both public and pri-vate school students.
