Mission Strategic Plan for Cabrini We are being Sent on Mission! Sent on Mission is the next phase of our movement to Unleash the Gospel in the Archdiocese of Detroit. It’s about helping all of our parishes and schools to implement the Archbishop’s pastoral letter and to

become more intentionally missionary. As part of this next phase, every parish will create a Missionary Strategic Plan (MSP). The creation of this MSP will be led by our parish leadership team, with input from the entire parish. The MSP process involves prayerful discernment of how God is calling us to become more inten-tionally missionary. We must consider not just those with whom we worship each week - but all of those within our parish boundaries. This is discipleship similar to the days following the first Pentecost!

Over the next several months, our parish will create a bold, actionable and concrete Missionary Strategic Plan that commits to measurable results which focus our parish activity and efforts towards our shared mission to Unleash the Gospel, our fundamental commitment to evangelization. Led by the Holy Spirit, we will develop an actionable plan with concrete strategies which seek to transform our parish community into a home for joyful missionary disciples. Our MSP will be a vehicle to respond to the Synod 16 propositions for families, parishes and Catholic schools.

In the next few months, we will host a Parish Visioning Day to hear from all of you. Meanwhile, there are many things we can each do to prepare:

Pray for the success of the MSP process. Prayer is the foundation of everything we do.

Read or listen to Archbishop Vigneron’s Unleash the Gospel pastoral letter. If you’ve read it before, do so again while discerning what it means for our parish. Visit: unleashthegospel.org/the-letter.

Learn more about the missionary efforts of the Archdio-cese by visiting unleashthegospel.org/next.

In the spirit of Blessed Father Solanus, let us thank God ahead of time for the missionary outreach that will result from our MSP!

Quote for the Week “A parish of glum faces and grumpy attitudes will attract no one. Let our faces show our joy, which is not based on our changing circumstances, but the unchanging presence of the risen Lord among us.”

—Unleash the Gospel Pastoral Letter pg.26 Super Bowl prediction I believe it will be a close game, but the talents of Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes will finally bring their storied coach (Andy Reid) a Superbowl ring. Maybe one day we’ll be able to say the same for the Lions??? Chiefs 30 – 49’ers 24

That’s all for now, see you in Church, Fr. Tim Birney, Pastor

While the RCIA is a process for unbaptized adults and children of catechetical age, as well as those baptized in another Chris-tian denomination, the RCIA team extends an invitation to all parishioners, their families and friends who want to learn more about and deepen their faith. Topics (listed below) are presented from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays in Mother Cabrini Room. The sessions provide an excellent opportunity to nurture our faith.
