Job Title: Business Administrator Reports to: Pastor/Pastoral Coordinator Location: St. Frances X. Cabrini Church, Yucaipa. Standard hours: 35 Classification: Exempt
PURPOSE
In direct collaboration with the Pastor/PC, this position is responsible for managing all parish finances, administration of payroll, and human resource functions. The business administrator assists in the stewardship of parish resources. The business administrator is responsible for all financial record keeping including the processing and disbursement of payments and overseeing the accurate input of all income. Monthly financial reports are prepared for the Pastor/Pastoral Coordinator and Finance Council to provide transparency and accountability in the stewardship of funds.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Business Administrator will oversee the financial stewardship of the parish. The Business Administrator will ensure proper maintenance of accounting records, processing receivables, payables and payroll; along with preparation of routine and special accounting reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Includes but is not limited to: Prepares and oversees parish budget. Acts as human resource consultant in collaboration with diocesan Director of Human Resources, Collaborates with parish finance council and ministry leaders with regards to budget and record keeping. Represents the Pastor/PC in some business matters Classifies, verifies and posts items in the general ledger. Balances financial books and records and maintains the general ledger. Determines proper records and distribution of debits and credit items. Compiles financial statements and reports for Pastor/PC and finance council.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
Includes but is not limited to: Oversee collection counters and data entry volunteers Oversee SCRIP ministry Assist in development of budget for parish. Process payroll for parish Attend monthly finance council meeting. Coordinate financial matters for annual festival Prepares weekly bulletin financial report. Assist with DDF pledges and payments Verify and process Parish Pay data
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's / Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience preferred. Five years of business experience and extensive knowledge of financial management practices along with basic knowledge of employment law. Must be knowledgeable about accounting principles and practices (screening test required); have strong verbal and written communication skills; and good interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Knowledge of Parish Data Systems (PDS), and/or Parish Soft products and systems is helpful. Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing, walking, sitting, hearing, speaking, seeing, reaching, lifting 10+ lbs on an occasional basis, repetitive hand/finger movements, sense of touch/feel, climbing and stooping.

SAVE THE DATE: The St Frances X Cabrini Church parish community will be hosting a “Farewell Dinner” for our departing church leaders. We will be honoring our Parish Coordinator Kirsten Thorstad and Fr. David Andel as they depart for new assignments in July. The dinner will be in the Parish Center on June 14, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please save the date. The Transition Team will be out in the courtyard after all the masses this weekend so members of the parish can pick up pages for a memory book for our honorees, sign up for volunteering and/or to make a contribution to the cost of the transition events. The decorating committee for the June 14th FAREWELL dinner is asking for empty wine bottles prior to the event. Also on the day of the farewell dinner they would like any kind of flowers from your garden.
