Assistant Principal News…
Winter has certainly arrived with some very chilly days at school this week. A reminder to families that our
students should only be wearing school jumpers and tracksuits on these colder days. A copy of our Winter
Uniform Policy has been included in this newsletter. The School Locker currently has a stock of our winter
uniforms and the pullover is a very warm option at a reasonable price. If your child has misplaced their jacket
or jumper, please ask them to check the lost property outside the canteen, as there are several jackets without
names on them currently in the box.
In Literacy, our Year 6 students are exploring informative texts through the lens of biography. Students are
researching different people who have had a significant impact on the world in some way. This research will
then be presented as an informative text by creating a personal tribute webpage or podcast. I can’t wait to see
the finished products and we will be sharing the students’ podcasts and webpages via the Year 6 Webpage
soon. What a fantastic project Year 6 with a real-world audience and platform!
Regards and God Bless,
Matthew Ritchie
Assistant Principal
Ordinary Time
With the Easter Season culminating in Pentecost last Sunday, we now move into the Ordinary Time of our
Church. During Ordinary Time we are invited to live, learn and celebrate the whole life of Jesus as we take
our direction from Him as His disciples. Through the Holy Spirit the Church was born at Pentecost.

Praying with Music
Without You – Wildfire
Without You was written by Wildfire as a heartfelt and honest response to who Jesus
is in our life. It is simply a love song written from a place of enduring gratitude and
unshakable hope. Without You reminds us that we are always held by love as our
world experiences both the beauty of light and, at times, disorienting darkness. It is
our sincere hope that Without You will draw you into an experience of that of love.

Together - For King & Country
Two-time GRAMMY award-winning duo For King & Country makes a powerful statement in this
collaboration with Kirk Franklin and Tori Kelly. Filmed in their homes during the quarantine, ‘Together’
collates 2000 messages and stories of people’s experiences throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Is He Worthy - By Andrew Peterson
It is a season of hope. This is an emotive and poetic description of what Jesus did for us. Is He worthy? He
is!

BISHOP of LISMORE — GREGORY HOMEMING OCD —
The Opening of Churches from 1st June 2020
Churches will open but no more than 50 people may attend at once (this must be supervised by the
parish priest or delegated person);
Churches are open for Prayer, Confessions, Mass, Baptisms, Funerals and Weddings;
Only 20 attendees are permitted at Weddings;
Contact details of all those entering the church (name and phone number or email address) must be
recorded;
Spatial distancing (at least 1 1/2 m from each other, the 4 square-metre rule) and hygiene directions
(including regularly disinfecting the church) must be observed; attendees may sit only in marked
places, to queue at a distance from others, to take care when coughing or sneezing and to avail
themselves of hand sanitizer provided;
Congregational singing is suspended until further notice;
Holy Communion shall be received on the hand only; the Chalice will not be distributed;
Those who are unwell or at high risk due to compromised immune or respiratory system should not
attend; those over 70 should exercise particular caution.
Further relaxations are expected over coming months, but this will depend upon infection rates not spiking
and churches being able to demonstrate responsible behaviour.
Further special directives have been issued to clergy and parishes.
Even with fifty in attendance and some multiplication of Sunday Masses, many of the faithful will be unable
to attend. The faithful are therefore dispensed from attending Sunday Mass. You can keep Sunday holy by
setting aside some time for prayer at home, reading the Scriptures of the day, watching Mass on television or
online, and asking God for the graces you would normally receive in Holy Communion.
