“Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do likewise.’” (Luke 10:37)
This was Jesus’ command at the end of the Good Samari-tan story. Did you know that the Samaritans and Jews despised each other. The moral of the story is to love our neighbor. That means loving someone you may not know or someone that looks different than you or someone that you don’t like. All without expecting anything in return.

Prayer Box: A prayer box is in the back of church. If you would like to have a prayer for a particular intention/need, write your intention on a slip of paper and place it in the box. No names are revealed as the prayer box is sealed at all times except when the papers are taken out and the Prayer Ministry prays for the intentions. This Prayer Box is another way of praying for someone or some situation that you do not wish to share with anyone else.
A second collection will taken at all Masses next weekend for
the Black and Indian Mission. Please be as generous as possi-
ble in your giving.
All Parish Ministry and Organization
meetings will resume in August. All min-
istry and organization leaders are encour-
aged to call the Parish Office to reserve all
planned meetings and events. Space is
limited and will be given on a first
come—first serve basis.
Purpose: Welcome individuals and families who might not normally feel comfortable participating in a regularly scheduled
Mass. The Disability Advocates will sponsor an annual distinct Mass, for people with special needs.
Overview: People with special needs resulting from physical, emotional, mental, or cognitive conditions are all around us in society, at school, at work, and in our families. It can be challenging for these important members of our society to participate in church due to physical and social barriers – or even family member anxiety. Celebrating a Mass for People with Special Needs can be the first of many steps toward integrating them into regular weekly or even daily Mass – and more deeply into all the sacraments and other aspects of parish life. Holding this Mass sends the message that all of God’s children are wel-come under the parish roof and that every person is an integral part of the parish family. For information call the Parish Of-fice at (504) 282-0296.
