The Rite of Chris an Ini a on of Adults (RCIA) is for those who have never been bap zed and who, in a faith response to the Word of God, ask to be prepared for sacra-mental ini a on in the Church.

There are other types of candidates who present themselves to the church. Par ally ini ated can-didates might have been:

•Validly bap zed Catholics with no subsequent experience of the Church;

•Validly bap zed Catholics who never received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirma on;

•Bap zed Chris ans, perhaps confirmed in anoth-er church, who having lived their faith are now seeking recep on into the Roman Catholic com-munion.

St. Anne Novena The annual Novena in Honor of St. Anne will begin July 17 at 6:30 P.M. at the Calvary Grot-to Shrine in St. Joseph’s Cem-etery with a mass followed by prayers and meditation. Thereafter, prayer and medita-tion will begin each day at 6:30 P.M. The novena will close on July 26 at 6:30 P.M. Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery. All are invited to attend.
