TRANSCRIPT
October 24th saw the start
of the first Annual Golf
Tournament that St. Henry’s
Council sponsored to
benefit Our Father’s House
Soup Kitchen. The event
was held at the Oaks
Course of Palm Aire Coun-
try Club.
The day began with partici-
pant registration and some
time for Dunkin Donuts ,
coffee and orange juice.
Then players headed out to
warm up on the putting
green before finding their
carts and lining up for the
shotgun scramble. The
weather was perfect
throughout the event–
sunny with just a light
breeze. There were several
contests along with the stan-
dard contests including a
marshmallow drive and a
bazooka. (continued pg 2)

“Reverse” Christmas Dinner We’re combining forces again with Council 3080
to host a dinner event. On December 15th St.
Henry’s Council and Council 3080 will serve as
hosts to volunteers from OFH Soup Kitchen and
Special Olympics. Grand knights Pete Chiara-
valle and Austin Scott developed the idea of a
“reverse Christmas party” in appreciation of the
work that they do throughout the year. “Rather
than just have a Christmas party for
ourselves, we decided to make the
party more meaningful by including
the unsung workers of the organiza-
tions we support” stated GK Chiara-
valle. The dinner will be pot luck and
is for the Knights, wives and families
along with the volunteers.

A Divine Identity Card
The recent Papal visit was highlighted
in this month’s Columbia magazine.
Also highlighted was the 8th World
Meeting of Families. An article that
went along with the reporting was
entitled “The family has an identity
card”. The author of the article relates
his answer to a question from a young
person “What did God do before he
created the world?” The answer was
that God was so filled with love he had
to go out from himself in order to
have someone to love outside of him-
self. So God
created the
world. But
the most
beautiful
thing God
made– so the
Bible tells us-was the family. God
gave the family an identity card so that
families could be places in our world
where his truth, love and beauty could
continue to take root and grow.
As Knights, we share the fraternal
bonds of family. Last month’s golf
tournament was not only about the fun
that was shared at the event, but
reaching outside our immediate fam-
ily of the Council to help others. Sev-
eral thousand dollars were raised
through the generous support of spon-
sors and participants that will help

proud to be part of a family where
truth, love and beauty grows through
action!
This milestone was achieved de-
spite continuing adverse condi-
tions affecting the insurance in-
dustry. “The $100 billion mile-
stone is not simply a number,”
said Supreme Knight Carl Ander-
son. “It highlights the fact that
each year we are protecting the

Date Knight Dinner Going out for dinner with your spouse
is not always a romantic occasion.
Sometimes it can just be easier than
trying to plan a menu, or shopping to
have enough ingredients to prepare a
meal.
But Date Knight Dinners allow social
time for the Knights and their wives.
The wives get to spend time with other
wives and get to know each of the
Knights and the mission they serve. St.

Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be
merciful like the heavenly Father, and have
told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show
us your face and we will be saved. Your loving
gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from be-
ing enslaved by money; the adulteress and
Magdalene from seeking happiness only in
created things; made Peter weep after his be-
trayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant
thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one
of us, the words that you spoke to the Samari-
tan woman: "If you knew the gift of God!"
St. Henry’s Council #14698
You are the visible face of the invisible Fa-
ther, of the God who manifests his power
above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the
Church be your visible face in the world, its
Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your
ministers would also be clothed in weakness
in order that they may feel compassion for
those in ignorance and error: let everyone
who approaches them feel sought after,
loved, and forgiven by God.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of
us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of
Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord,
and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm,
may bring good news to the poor, proclaim
liberty to captives and the oppressed, and
restore sight to the blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary,
Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with
the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and
