Work of Mercy Focus: I was thirsty and you gave me to drink. Not everyone in our world knows what it is like to have a drink of clean water. In some of the poorest countries, many of the lakes and rivers are polluted (dirty). People who use this water can get sick. We can conserve water and be careful how we use it. Try not to pollute water. You can support countries that do not have clean water.

Tuesday, March 8 at 9:30am (following the Tuesday morning Mass) in the Church Auditorium

We will be watching the movie “The Francis Effect” and reflecting on the theme of mercy. From the moment Pope Francis appeared on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, he won the hearts of the people. His humility, simplicity and closeness to the poor reveal a man deeply in touch with the Gospel. His profile has soared. He has initiated a fundamental reform of the Roman Curia, challenged a “globalization of indifference,” and become the most talked about person in the world.

Lunch will be provided and there is no cost for this event.

The new session of Book Club has started and it’s not too late to join. We will be studying “The Spiritual Wisdom of Saint John XXIII by Bill Huebsch.” You can pick up your complimentary copy of the book at the Parish Office.

CWL NEWS

A donation of $10,000 has been made to St. John the Baptist elevator fund, and a donation of $300 for the Christian Ethics students from Estevan, who will be going on a Mission trip to Mexico, has been given to Regina Diocese, the organizer of the event. Regina Diocesan CWL Convention will be held at Holy Child Parish in Regina on April 17-18. Registration deadline is April 1. Please call Elizabeth if interested in attending. General cleaning of the kitchen is to be planned for March. Reminder- March meeting will be an evening meeting, following 7 p.m. Mass.
