Where is God in your world?

Looking forward to the new year

and reflecting on the past, The

Business Card by Dr. Steve O, Steff

with Scott Gajewsky may provide

you with some food for thought

about yourself – what you glorify: in your home, in

your workplace, in your heart? Although this book

is geared to business leaders – which I am not and

maybe you are not – it presents a unique perspective

into today’s workplace ministry movement that is

very enlightening. It introduces us to changes that

are coming about in people, companies, and

communities as a result of this movement.

Sunday, January 1, 8:30 a.m. Mass

Servers: J. Moeller, B. Smith, C. Smith

Lectors: Roger Smallwood, Bob Reynolds

To all Liturgical Ministers, please note that

as of the printing of this bulletin, not all

positions have been filled. There are sign-up

sheets in the server sacrasty. Please take a

moment to see if you can help fill in for

those away on vacation. Thank you.

STEWARDSHIP

“And the Word became flesh”

—John 1:14

Jesus is God’s ultimate gift of love to us. The

countless other blessings that God showers

upon us are nothing compared to the gift of His

only Son. The only appropriate way for us to

respond to such generous love is with our own

generous love. When we dedicate our lives to

sharing all the gifts God has placed in our

hands, the peace of Christ truly will control our

hearts and we will know Christmas joy every

day.

STEWARDSHIP OF FINANCE TERRI’S TIDBITS

SHOPPING CENTS

DID YOU KNOW that Gary Even, Gerard Geier,

Tia Gilbert, Stephen Mann, Katharine Nanry, Robert

Ramsey, James Sterwerf, Evelyn Sunderhaus, and

Michael Wolterman are all celebrating 50 years with

our Catholic Order of Foresters? Congratulations!

DID YOU KNOW that we have

moved the Commemorative

plaques in the Parish Center Foyer

to the east side of the foyer so they

are more visible and out of the

weather? We have also hung the

plaque acknowledging and

thanking the Rumpke Family for

their generous donation to the

Parish Center Floor Replacement

Project. Thanks so much to the Rumpke Family for

their support and thanks again to the floor

committee.

DID YOU KNOW that 2 hvac units on the church

rooftop have died? Each unit is approximately

$24,000. This makes the success of the Annual Fund

Drive so critical. These units had a life of 15 years.

We have gotten 20 years out of each. They exceeded

their life span. If you have given to the AFD, thank

you. If not, please consider a gift.

DID YOU KNOW that the Parish Office is closed

from December 23 till January 2? May you and your

family have a very Blessed Christmas!

Volunteers are needed to help in the parish

office on Tuesdays.

Do you have a Tuesday where you are looking to

volunteer? Do you have a few days a month you

could donate your time to help your parish?

We are looking for welcoming individuals to assist

in the front office by helping those who come into

the office and answering the phones. We would

prefer a time commitment from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00

p.m. but are flexible.

Please, if interested, call the parish office for more

information or to sign up for a trial date.

St. John the Baptist Church

We love God. We love others. We make disciples.

We welcome those of you who are guests from out of town or from

other parishes. It is good to have you with us.

We extend a special word of welcome to our college students and

other young adults home for the holidays. It is a joy to see you

among us.

We rejoice, of course, in those whose faces we see each week.

If this is your first time here or the first time in a while…,

We are glad you’re here and invite you to come back soon.

It is good for all of us to be here together to celebrate the love of

God revealed in the gift of the Word Incarnate.
