Nosotros, la gente de San Juan el Evangelis-ta, somos una comunidad católica. Orgullo-

sos de nuestra diversidad étnica, y como buenos administradores de los dones que

Dios nos ha dado, nosotros dedicamos nues-tras vidas a Dios. Siguiendo el ejemplo de

Sixth Sunday of Easter: At this time of year, when flowers are blooming and daylight is length-ening and nature is full of life, it feels as though God’s creation has been reborn. During the Easter season we recall that we ourselves have been reborn in baptism. Today’s Gospel re-minds us that Jesus dwells within us. Not only that, the Holy Spirit is with us, too. Therefore, when we look around, we can see the full flowering of the divine in ourselves, in each other, and in the whole world. Truly, let all the earth cry out to God with joy. Sexto Domingo de Pascua: En este tiempo del ano cuando todo esta florido, las horas de luz se alargan y la naturaleza rebosa de vida parece como que la creación de Dios ha experimen-tado un renacimiento. Durante el tiempo de Pascua recordamos que nosotros también hemos experimentado un renacer en el Bautismo. El Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda que Jesús habita en nosotros. Y también el Espíritu Santo habita en nosotros. Es así que, al contemplar nuestro alrededor, podemos ver el pleno florecimiento de lo divino en nosotros, en los demás y en el mundo entero. Verdaderamente, que aclame al Senor toda la tierra con himnos de alabanza.

In the Gospel today, Jesus says to us: “If you love me, you will keep my command-ments...Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and reveal myself to him”. When we give to the poor, God indeed pours his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into our lives and through us into the hearts of those who are poor. The St. Vincent de Paul Society in our community will endeavor in every way to continue offering support through our helpline during this time of uncertainty. En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos dice, “Si me amas, guardaras mis mandamien-tos...El que me ama será amado por mi Padre y yo lo amare y me revelare a el”. Constant Self-Denial Another way of wording this is mortifica-tion, the ascetical life, which leads to the mystical life of union with God. Mary de-nied and sacrificed herself in all times and places. By doing so, she gave full reign for God to work in the entirety of her life. In Mary’s approved Apparitions in both Lourdes and Fatima, she strongly encouraged the practice of prayer, but also that of sacrifice. By making sacrifices we are imitating Mary in the art of self-denial. Self-denial turns us towards God and away from self. Mary was always God-centered and never self-centered. May this be our style of life!

6. Surpassing Purity: One of the most sub-lime virtues that characterizes the most Blessed Virgin Mary is that of her spotless purity; Mary is known as the Immaculate One. In Fatima, Our Lady sadly expressed that most souls are lost to the eternal fires of hell due to sins against the virtue of holy purity. Mary is the Perpetual Virgin. She was virgin before the birth of Jesus, during the birth of Jesus, and after the birth of Jesus. True devotion to Mary can help us to maintain our purity, and if we have lost it, to seek restoration through Sacramental Confession. Contemplating a beautiful picture, painting, or statue of Our Lady can instill in us noble aspirations for purity.

Families of 2020 Graduates. St. John would like to recognize those High School and College Students who will be gradu-ating this Spring/Summer. At this time we ask each family to email or mail a current picture of your Graduate and a short biography (2 to 3 sentences). Please include a contact person and phone number. (The contact person should not be the Graduate.) Familias de los Graduados de 2020. San Juan quisiera reconocer a los estudiantes que se graduaran de la High School o de la Uni-versidad esta primavera/verano. EIM WORKSHOP (during pandemic). EIM Policies require all clergy, religious, semi-narians, employees and adult volunteers serv-ing in a ministry requiring EIM compliance to submit an EIM Application for Ministry (one-time only) and attend an EIM Workshop at least once every three years. No new EIM Applica-tions are being accepted/submitted during this time of COVID-19 and all in-person EIM Work-shops have been suspended. However, the EIM Office has created a Temporary Online EIM Training to fulfill the compliance requirement for those who already have an EIM account and are due or past due to attend an EIM Workshop. En las Apariciones aprobadas de María tanto en Lourdes como en Fátima, alentó enérgicamente la practica de la oración, opero también la del sacrificio. Al hacer sacrificios estamos imitando a María en el arte de negarnos a si mismos. La abne-gación, o sea negarse a si mismo, nos vuelve hacia Dios y nos aleja de si mis-mos . María siempre fue centrada en Dios y nunca en si misma. !Que este sea nues-tro estilo de vida! 6. Pureza Impecable Una de las virtudes mas sublimes que caracterizan a la Santísima Virgen María es la de su impecable pureza; María es conocida como la Inmaculada. En Fátima,

la Virgen expreso con tristeza que la ma-yoría de las almas se pierden en los fue-gos eternos del infierno debido a los pe-cados contra la virtud de la santa pureza. María es la Virgen Perpetua. Ella era vir-gen antes del nacimiento de Jesús, du-rante el nacimiento de Jesús, y después del nacimiento de Jesús. La verdadera devoción a María nos puede ayudar a mantener nuestra pureza, y si la hemos perdido, a buscar la restauración a través del Sacramento de la Confesión. Contem-plar una hermosa imagen, pintura o esta-tua de la Virgen puede inculcarnos aspira-ciones noves de pureza. Pray the Rosary with our Holy Father Pope Frances this month.
