Next Saturday, November 24, Fr. Harold Trahan will celebrate the 4:00 pm Mass at St. Joseph Church. He returns to his home parish where he celebrated his 1st Solemn Mass in 1969 to personally extend an invitation to St. Joseph Parishioners to attend his 50th Anniversary Mass of Thanksgiving on March 1, 2019 at St. Mary Church in Lafayette. He asks that parishioners let their family members and friends who know or remember him to join him for the 4:00 pm Mass next Saturday.

Saint Joseph Youth Envelope Fundraiser - Throughout NovemberWhat is it?A fundraiser for the St. Joseph Youth Ministry Program - specifically, Covecrest Summer Camp.

Why do we need it?It is no secret that with today’s rising cost combined with financial demands on our young people and their families that an additional expense requested by the church for a retreat or a basic registration fee will be the first to go. We never turn young people away due to their financial situations. Currently, there are several people who, year after year, continue to give financially in order to help to offset these costs. We are beyond grateful for those who give and we will continue to lean upon them for their support. Unfortunately, the need is only becoming greater. This is why we are attempting to reach out to the parish family as a whole. With more people giving even small amounts, we can make a huge impact and offer much more opportunity to our young people.

How does it work? This year we have 150 envelopes labeled $1-$150 spread out at four Envelope Stations located near the doors of church. Simply walk up to a station and grab an envelope (or envelopes) of your choice, place a check or cash for (but not limited to) the amount on the front of the envelope inside the return envelope, then place the return envelope in either the collection basket, drop off, or mail to the rectory. If all 150 envelopes are filled, we will raise just over $11,000 for the Youth Program!

Thank you for your continued support of St. Joseph Youth (6th – 12th graders)!

Jamie Orillion - Director of Youth Ministry
