GREETINGS FROM FATHER STEVE
I would like to introduce myself as I begin my service as associate pastor here at Infant Jesus Parish. I grew up outside
of Wilmington Delaware and attended public school until eighth grade. I graduated from Salesianum School and then
studied chemistry at the University of Delaware. After graduating U of D with a B.S. in chemistry, I worked for six
years in chemical sales; most of that was spent working for Merck. In 1992, I entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary
in Philadelphia. I was ordained for the Diocese of Camden on May 16, 1998 and was assigned to St. Lawrence in Lin-
denwold. I have also been assigned to Holy Family Parish in Sewell, Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Cape May
Court House, Our Lady of Hope Parish in Blackwood and Holy Trinity Parish in Margate/Ventnor/Longport. For five
years of my priesthood I was the diocesan coordinator for marriage preparation. I love marriage very much and try to
support it as much as I can. As a result, I have been active in Pre-Cana, Engaged Encounter and Marriage Encounter.
While in Cape May County, I was the chaplain for Wildwood Catholic High School and campus minister for Bishop
McHugh Regional School.
I have been playing guitar for 33 years and am a big fan of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, King Crimson, contemporary jazz
and contemporary Christian music. Some of our parishioners have already met my African Grey parrot Gabriella in
the office. I have had Gabriella since she was two months, and she will be 19 in October. Gabriella’s vocabulary is
over 200 words. She is adjusting very well to the new assignment.
I am excited about being part of Infant Jesus Parish. The parish is known for being very much alive, and that has been
confirmed for me since I have been here.

in the back of the churches in the St. Vincent DePaul

St. John Vianney (1786-1859) Ordained a priest in 1815 and later made the parish priest of Ars, he is commonly
known as the “Cure of Ars”. His reputation grew as a confessor and director of souls throughout the Christian world so much that he spent many hours every day in the confessional. He lived a life of torment and mortification which resulted in him
having great patience. Saint John Vianney was a true child of God in his simplicity and performed many works of charity and love guiding God’s lost sheep back to the
fold. He passed away on August 4, 1859 which is his Feast Day.
