ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
Within your will, O Lord, all things are established, and there is none that can resist your will. For you have made all things, the heaven and the earth, and all that is held within the circle of heaven; you are the Lord of all.
FIRST READING Hab 1:2-3, 2:2- 4
A reading from the prophet Habakkuk How long, Lord, am I to cry for help while you will not listen; to cry ‘Oppression!’ in your ear and you will not save? Why do you set in-justice before me, why do you look on where there is tyranny? Out-rage and violence, this is all I see, all is contention, and discord flour-ishes. Then the Lord answered and said, ‘Write the vision down, in-scribe it on tablets to be easily read, since this vision is for its own time only: eager for its own fulfilment, it does not deceive; if it comes slowly, wait, for come it will, without fail. See how he flags, he whose soul is not at rights, but the upright man will live by his faithfulness.’
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM
(R.) If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 1. Come, ring out our joy to the Lord;
hail the rock who saves us. Let us come before him, giving thanks, with songs let us hail the Lord. (R.)
2. Come in; let us bow and bend low; let us kneel before the God who made us for he is our God and we the people who belong to his pasture, the flock that is led by his hand. (R.)
3. O that today you would listen to his voice! ‘Harden not your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massah in the desert when your fathers put me to the test; when they tried me, though they saw my work”. (R.)
SECOND READING 2Tim 1:6-8, 13-14
A reading from the second letter of St Paul to Timothy
I am reminding you to fan into a flame the gift that God gave you when I laid my hands on you. God’s gift was not a spirit of timidity, but the Spirit of power, and love, and self-control. So you are never to be ashamed of witnessing to the Lord, or ashamed of me for being his prisoner; but with me, bear the hardships for the sake of the Good News, relying on the power of God. Keep as your pattern the sound teaching you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. You have been trusted to look after something pre-cious; guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Alleluia, alleluia! The word of the Lord stands for ever; it is the word given to you, the Good News. Alleluia!
GOSPEL Lk 17:5-10
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith.’ The Lord replied, ‘Were your faith the size of a mustard seed you could say to this mul-berry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea”, and it would obey you. ‘Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from the fields, “Come and have your
meal immediately”? Would he not be more likely to say, “Get my sup-per laid; make yourself tidy and wait on me while I eat and drink. You can eat and drink yourself afterwards”? Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told? So with you: when you have done all you have been told to do, say, “We are merely servants: we have done no more than our duty.”’
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
COMMUNION ANTIPHON The Lord is good to those who hope in him, to the soul that seeks him.
MEDITATION: How strong is your faith in God and how can you grow in it? Faith is not something vague, uncertain, undefina-ble, or something which requires a leap of the imagination or worse, some kind of blind allegiance. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Faith is a response of trust and belief in what is reliable, truthful, certain, and real. To have faith is to believe and trust in someone or something. We believe in the power of electricity even though we can't visibly see it with the naked eye. We know we can tap into that power and use it to do things we could not do by our own human power. Faith in God works in a similar way. When God reveals himself to us he gives us the "assurance" and "conviction" that his power and presence and glory is just as real, and even more real, than our experience of the natural physical world around us (Letter to the Hebrews 11:1-3). Things around us change, but God never changes. He is constant, ever true to his word, and always faithful to his promises (Psalm 145:13, Hebrews 10:23). That is why we can have the greatest assurance of his unconditional love for us and why we can hope with utter conviction that he will give us every-thing he has promised. Jesus is God's visible proof that his word is reliable and true - his love is unfailing and unconditional - and his power is immeasurably great and unlimited.

Father, pour out Your Spirit upon the people of this parish so
that inspired by Your word, nourished at Your table and
graced by Your empowering love, our lives may be devoted to
the service of our brothers and sisters and the building up of
Your Kingdom. May our parish community truly be, for this
place and time, the Body of Christ Your Son, through whom
we make this prayer. Amen
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. If Je-sus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake. I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, 'Ryan, you be Jesus.'

During the month of October, there will be recitation of The Holy Rosary and Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament at the end of every Morning Mass.
The Rosary is a prayerful exercise comprised of both medi-tation and vocal prayer. While praying the prayers of the Rosary, meditation focuses on the lives of Jesus and Mary. There are four mysteries of the Rosary: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious. PLEASE REMEMBER OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY.
The Legion of Mary, will be visiting homes, during October, to pray the Rosary together with families. Members will bring the statue of Our Lady to the homes for families to pray with and keep for a week. If you wish to have the statue of OUR LADY in your home during October, a member of The Legion Of Mary will be in the foyer after Mass to take book-ings for the home visit.
The Origins of the Holy Rosary The Holy Rosary as we pray it to-day was given to the Church, by Saint Dominic, who had received it from the Blessed Virgin, as a powerful means of converting heretics and other sinners. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, instructed by the Blessed Virgin as well as his own experience, Saint Dominic preached the Holy Rosary for the rest of his life; both by his example as well as by his sermons. The Holy Rosary which he said everyday was his preparation for every sermon he preached. (From: The Secret of the Rosary’ by Saint Louis Marie de Montfort ). The need to pray the Rosary is highly recommended by His Holiness Pope Francis, to pray the Holy Rosary as a family.
