Works of Mercy Update For:
Casa Maria – Thanks to our wonderful parishioners,
the donation of the Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches
has been a success. As of June 19, we have collected
656 loaves or 7,216 sandwiches as well as fruit,
snacks, and clothing. We will be continuing this
project.
Eyeglass & Hearing Aid – We have sent 2 large
boxes of items this year. Please continue to use the
baskets in the Narthex to contribute used items.
Poverello House / Sister Jose Shelter – In March
we delivered 121 bags of items to Sister Jose Shelter
and 57 bags to Poverello House. They were greatly
appreciative of your
generosity.
Our heartfelt thanks to you!

PARISH NEWS
Works of Mercy A Note from Fr. John
Good News!
Dear Parishioners,
Thanks to your generous support, we paid off our
parish mortgage! I know that you are as happy as I am
about achieving our goal. Fr. Patrick Kennedy, Fr.
Liam Leahy, and Fr. Richard Tomasek, S.J. and all the
priests, deacons and parishioners whose dedication
and generosity made the construction of our parish
church possible should be remembered in thankful
prayer.
Because of all of your sacrifices our parish has
prospered in the mission field. We will continue to
collect donations for our new building fund for the
completion of our master plan. These funds will be
used in all new construction.
May God bless you all and keep us strong in faith to
serve our community.
Fr. John Arnold
Pastor, St. Mark the Evangelist Parish

Dee Paula Subran Johnson
1946 - 2020
Dee Paula Subran Johnson, 73, passed away on Friday May 15th,
peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Dee was born on June 18,
1946 to John and Angela Subran. She was a loving and faithful wife of
38 years to Jessie Johnson, who preceded her in death. She is
survived by her son, Kwesi Hazel, and daughter-in-law, Kari Hazel,
who loved and cared for her in her last 15 months. Her
grandchildren, Brittney (29), Skyler (25)- who also cared for her,
Bleu (24), Seven (21), Jayden (19), and youngest grandchild- Star (16);
and her great grandchild Phoenix (son of Bleu); as well as her
brothers Kevern, Gary, Bertrand, Russell and her sisters: Karen and
their spouses. Sisters Veronica and Enid preceded her in death.
Dee took life by the horns and did it her own way. Forever the
hostess, she loved to throw football parties and kept her guests’
glasses full, plates heavy and laughter in the air. She loved her family
and friends. Her heart belonged to her grandchildren and each had a
special relationship with her. There wasn’t a song she didn’t love to sing. She would put on her headphones,
start her favorite songs and melt into the music. Dee was loved by many and will be missed by all. We love you.
There was a funeral Mass on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:30 am here at St. Mark Catholic Church.
