ST. MARK PRAYER CHAIN: The Prayer Chain focuses mostly on the Health and Wellness of our St. Mark Family members and friends. EUCHARIST MINSTER TRAINING: for all Eucharist Ministers and Mass Leaders will be held on Thursday, October 18, at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Fr. Bill will lead the training. Questions, contact Mary Horty.

CONFIRMATION Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation for high school students in grades 10-12 will begin Sunday, September 23rd, at 6:00pm in the church. Both parents and youth are encouraged to attend this first meeting. Registration forms will be available at that meeting. HOLY FIRE - MIDDLE SCHOOL: If you have heard or participated in NCYC, you know how incredible that experience is. NFCYM, who produces NCYC, is offering a one-day event for middle school youth in Chicago on Saturday, October 27th. Join us at Holy Fire for an experience of dynamic speakers, music, and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. At Holy Fire, young people will be called to embrace their Baptism and engage with the relevant and powerful Gospel of Jesus. Dr. Darren Davis will present a lecture on Studying Black Catholics: Testing My Pa-tience, Faith, and Community at Holy An-gels Parish on Thursday, September 27th at 6pm.

Based on his book, Perseverance in the Parish? Religious Atti-tudes from a Black Catholic Perspective, Dr. Davis will highlight the important findings and examine the challenges involved in researching and writing about Black Catholics.
