    Christmas 2007

    2008 is a special year for St

    Marks as we shall be celebrat-ing 40 years in our present

    building and we would like

    you to share in the celebration.

    You may have lived in the par-

    ish for many years and St

    Marks (old and/or new build-

    ings) may hold many happy

    memories for you. Perhaps youwere married in St Marks or

    attended the wedding of a

    relative or close friend. Were

    you christened at St Marks?

    Did you have one of your chil-

    dren christened at St Marks?

    There was no wasted time at St

    Mark's church during the

    Easter holidays as children

    from all over Cardiff joined

    together for Wastewatchers

    holiday club. There was mu-

    sic, games, craft, quizzes,

    Sunday services at St Marks at 9am and10.45am (which includes groups andactivities for children and young people

    from 0-17!) and 6.30pm.9.30am St Marks at UHW in Sports andSocial Club

    Regular midweek activities for children

    and young people (details are on the

    church website) and ABCs (Adults, Ba-

    bies and Children) on Wednesdays in

    school term time at 1.30pm.

    into brand new creations which were

    judged in front of proud parents on the

    final day. There was an important mes-

    sage to the week as well: just as we can

    turn junk into brand new creations so

    Jesus can get rid of the junk in our lives

    If you are retired, likegood food and meeting

    people then St Mark's is

    the place to be every

    Monday lunch time dur-

    ing term time. All of our

    food is freshly prepared

    and cooked by our com-

    mitted team of volunteers

    and ranges from roast

    pork to home made

    corned beef pie to casse-

    role. For just 2 you get a

    two course meal with tea

    or coffee, but the friends

    you make are better than

    money could buy. Please

    ring before coming to

    avoid disappointment.

    Lunch is served at around

    12.20pm and is pre-

    ceeded by lunch timeprayers at 12 noon.

    Prayers aren't compulsory

    but those who go really

    value the oppor-

    tunity to gather as

    a group to pray.
