The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which springs up and becomes the largest of plants, like a tender shoot from the cedar which will bear fruit and become a majestic cedar. So shall the just one flourish, like a cedar. As we walk by faith and not by sight, may our lives bear fruit in abundance.

Due to FOX’s sports programming, the televised Sunday Mass from the Cathedral of Saint Andrew will not air live on FOX 17 on the following Sundays: June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 15. FAITH FORMATION

Hello everyone! We’re setting up for summer, and youth ministry has some great events planned! Here’s a list of dates so that everyone can have a mini youth ministry calendar! 6/23-6/29—Mission Trip to Fremont, Nebraska! We are still in need of drinks and some snacks for the trip. For snacks, we ask for individual bags of chips and cookies, granola bars, and juice boxes. Think of things that your kids would eat and consider donating a snack! All of the leftover snacks will be used to start our faith formation year. 7/12 — Michigan’s Adventure trip! This event is open to middle school and high school students. Permission slips and details about driving/chaperoning are in the Gathering Area. 7/20 — Youth night at the parish festival! Come and join us for water games, food, and summer fun as we kick off our parish festival. Exact times will be coming soon. 7/30 —High school beach day! We are going to the beach. Keep an eye on the bulletin for further details as we get closer. For now, mark your calendars! 8/6—8/10 — Elementary Retreat! We’re going to need middle school and high school volunteers to help us for this retreat. Details will be coming as we get closer to retreat. 8/16 — Youth Appreciation Event at Craig’s Cruisers! We want to acknowledge all of our youth who volunteer in the parish. Whether it’s leading retreats or serving during mass, we’re thankful for you! This event is open to all ages. Keep an eye on the bulletin for details as we get closer to the date. That’s what we have coming up for the summer! We hope to see everyone at one of our events! Peace, Allison

Look for Youth Ministry on the Parish App I’m excited to announce that youth ministry groups have been added as a part of improvements to the parish app! If you haven’t done so yet, please download the parish app (myParish on the itunes/Google store) and go to the groups section. From there, just pick your age group! We have groups for middle school, high school, and young adults. We’ll be using this to send updates, date reminders, and other important information. Download the app now to make sure you’re in touch!

Hello All, This weekend we are called to celebrate fathers and we have been blessed with only having to look to St. Joseph, the patron saint of fathers, in gratitude and for inspiration. From the moment Mary told him about the child that would enter the world, this man’s first response was one of care and compassion. He decided not to denounce Mary, not to punish her, but to act in a way that did not hurl her and her child into turmoil as outcasts. Later, when the Angel of God visited him and he understood his part in God’s plan, he was an obedient servant, caring for mother and child, creating as safe and stable a life as possible. He found the strength of character to withstand whatever gossip and accusations must have accompanied the news of this baby. And later following Jesus’ birth he had the courage to lead his family to safety in Egypt avoiding Herod and his plan for the child that would save the world. What an incredible role model we have to hold as an example of what we are called to be not only as fathers, but as faithful people. God’s Blessings, Molly Wisdom

Of Eye Strain and Scripture: Our parish makes good use of the projectors in the sanctuary to project to the Responsorial Psalm refrain, but this technology has its limitations. Since I started here, many people have told me that they just can’t make out the words if they are more than a few pews back. Unfortunately, the images are as large as I can make them because the projectors are fixed to the ceiling. A parishioner, Justine Madalinski, approached me with a creative solution: to print the psalm refrain in the bulletin! The same license that we hold to project

the music on the wall also covers printing it in the bulletin. I hope this helps meditation and participation in the Word of God in our Sunday Masses.
