name and a name responsive to the needs of the Church

Monday September 14 THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS ndash Todayrsquos feast celebrates a double anniversary In Jerusalem Constantine erected a round church the Anastasis above the empty grave of Jesus and

a basilica the Martyrium in the square between the two churches a shrine Calvarium marking the place of the

crucifixion Dedicated in 335 they were destroyed by the Persians in 614 The two churches were rebuilt by

Patriarch Modestus of Jerusalem in 626 but were later destroyed by the Muslims in 1009 The present church of the

Holy Sepulcher rebuilt by the Crusaders was dedicated in 1149 Today also commemorates the discovery of the

Lordrsquos cross by the empress St Helena in 320

CONFIRMATION HOLY COMMUNION

In the Diocese of Tyler ChildrenYouth who have completed the 3rd grade are eligible to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion If you have a child that is entering the 3rd grade or who has not been Confirmed or received the Sacrament of Holy Communion please register for Faith Formation check online option and fill out a Sacramental Request Form (green form) Information and additional requirements for new requests will be forthcoming

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION) Children who are in the Second Grade are eligible to receive this Sacrament If you have a child entering 2nd grade or who has not been to Confession (3rd ndash12th) Please register for Faith Formation (online option) and fill out Sacramental Request Form (green form) Information and additional requirements for requests will be forthcoming

St Boniface of Chandler will be visiting all Masses on the weekend of September 20 in order to sell

discount cards to raise money for their tuition assistance program for Catholic education Cards are

$10 each There are 18 different discounts on the card and they are good for the entire year They

can be used once a day Representatives will be present from St Boniface for this sale Cash checks

and credit cards as well as Venmo will be accepted How important Catholic education is for the faith

and moral formation of our youth St Boniface is experiencing very positive results in our students at

Gorman and St Gregory This year St Boniface is directly subsidizing ten students at the Tyler

Catholic Schools Thank you so very much

The SMM Food Pantry ministry operates every Wednesday morning We provide a meal as well as food supplies to 40-80 families per week We purchase food supplies from the East Texas Food Bank at a cost of $500 to $1000 per week

We could not do these amazing work without with your generous support

This week we served 79 clients with 85 bags of groceries and 240 ldquoto-gordquo lunches

and moral formation of our youth St Boniface is experiencing very positive results in our students at

St Boniface of Chandler will be visiting all Masses on the weekend of September 20 in order to sell

discount cards to raise money for their tuition assistance program for Catholic education Cards are

$10 each There are 18 different discounts on the card and they are good for the entire year They

can be used once a day Representatives will be present from St Boniface for this sale Cash checks

and credit cards as well as Venmo will be accepted How important Catholic education is for the faith

and moral formation of our youth St Boniface is experiencing very positive results in our students at

Gorman and St Gregory This year St Boniface is directly subsidizing ten students at the Tyler
