FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT: DECEMBER 2, 2018 Today’s Reflection:

nas!

ras.

AMEN!!

Diacono Pedro Gonzalez

Meaning of Advent Wreath

The Advent wreath is a Christian tradition that symbolizes the

passage of the four weeks of Advent. It is a circular candle hold-

er that typically holds five candles. During the season of Advent

one candle on the wreath is lit each Sunday until all of the can-

dles, including the fifth candle, are lit on Christmas Day. Most

Advent wreaths use three colors of candles – three purple, one

pink, and one white. Each candle represents an aspect of the

spiritual preparation for the celebration of the birth of our Lord,

Jesus Christ. Find out, and share with a friend, the meaning of

the First Candle of Advent. Thank you.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

“During Advent, we Christian stewards must ask ourselves some hard questions. Am I staying faithful to my prayer life? Am I using my energy and skills to serve others? Am I overly concerned about material gain? Am I relying my “stuff” or my investments as my source of comfort or security? Am I living for the moment or for the coming of the Lord?
