Welcome Back We encourage anyone who is at risk or is sick to please remain home. Dispensation for Sunday obligation is still in effect until the end of June. Live-streamed Masses are still available from many of the Churches in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. For those who decide to come to Mass, please know that even with the strictest social dis-tancing measures and sanitation, you are still at risk of contracting an illness by entering a public place. Seating at Masses is on a first come, first served basis so PLEASE do not be offended if you are turned away because we have met our capacity. Each parish can accommodate 100 people with social distancing measures in place. The entrance door will open 30 minutes prior to Mass time.

• Only one entrance will be open (St. Michael’s: the side door with ramp and at Sts. Cyril & Methodius: the front main door on the right).

• For ages 10 and up, face coverings are required for the duration of Mass and if you attend Confession. Face coverings or masks must cover mouth and nose.

• Holy Communion will be distributed in the hand only at the end of Mass. If you are unable to walk to the front for communion, please remain seated and commun-ion will brought to you.

• To allow for the Churches to be disinfected before the next Mass. Please DO NOT congregate inside or out-side but head directly to your vehicle.

Let us be that beatitude, that blessing for those who are isolated and afraid. Let us ask God for the grace of humili-ty that we may be thoughtful of others, courageous and exhibit the love of Resurrection, mask, and all!

UPDATE ON PARISH PICTURE DIRECTORIES

Many of you have been inquiring about the Parish Picture Direc-tories asking when are they going to be in. Well the 2nd proof was sent back in February...AND THEN...COVID-19 hit. We have been in contact with the company and they are just now starting up production again. We hope to have the Directories within the next few weeks. A notice will be put in the bulletin and on the website when they come in. All those who took a picture or sub-mitted a picture will get a free directory. If there are any extra’s we will have them available to purchase.

SPECIAL COLLECTION JULY 11 & 12 In 1833, our founder, Blessed Frédéric Oza-nam, and the original members realized they needed money to fund their good works of charity. Because the giving capacity of the members varied, they decided to pass around a simple black bag so that each member could give what they could afford to give. To-

day, we continue this tradition. This year's Black Bag Collection will be held the weekend of July 11-12, 2020. This year's theme is "Extend mercy towards others, so there can be no one whom you meet without helping." Special collection Envelopes are available in your Offering Box or Packets for you to use. The funds collected during this single weekend play a crucial role in the Society’s ability to fund the Vincentian Services Center, Food Network Ministry, Voucher Ministry, Home Visits, and more.

Despite being closely tied to the Archdiocese, the Society does not receive funding from the Diocesan Service Funds (DSF) like some of our sister organizations.

Eucharistic Adoration

Our parishes are not offering Eucharistic Adoration during this time, due to the

COVID-19 pandemic. Although Adoration of the Blessed

Sacrament is not offered as it was before the pandemic hit, St. Michael’s is always open

during office hours for you to pray in front of the tabernacle, which houses the Eucharist.

We received a memo from Most Reverend George A. Sheltz on behalf of Cardinal Di-Nardo, expressing their sincerest apprecia-tion for our diligence in adhering to the

State of Texas and CDC guidelines for reopening our Churches for the celebration of public Mass. Unfortunately, with the recent news of the spike in COVID-19 cases that we are experiencing, they informed us that we are NOT to open our parish facilities for in person meetings and other parish activities. So in light of this memo, we cannot plan for a bazaar that is to be held in 2½ months. If things change and the Diocese advises us we can resume meetings and parish activities, we will again revisit the bazaar and possible alternatives. As for now our usual bazaar activities may not take place. Stay tuned!

ST. PAUL’S FUNDRAISER RESCHEDULED

The Spring Fest Fundraiser for St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Needville will be this Sunday, June 28th. They will have Chicken Fried Steak Plates (Drive-Thru Only) at Harvest Park. The meal, catered by Ben’s Chuck Wagon, will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door. All previously sold meal tickets (green in color) for the can-celed March event will be honored. A Country Store and dessert sale will also be available. All proceeds will go towards the reno-vation of St. Paul’s educational building.

CEMS Annual Fundraiser This Sunday, June 28th, the Central Emergency Medical Service (CEMS) will have a Drive-Thru BBQ Chicken and Sausage Dinner. There were no pre-sale tickets. They will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Quentin Fojtik and friends will be doing the cooking—-so you know it will be GOOD! There will be baked goods for sale as well. Tickets are $12 for chicken, sausage, beans, potato salad and dessert! Now that is a deal! All proceeds benefit the CEMS in their efforts to service the community.

and mask to Mass. Scholarships will be handed out. (On June 19, 2020 we received a memo from Bishop George Sheltz on behalf of Cardinal DiNardo informing us that at this time no meetings or parish activities are to be held due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. Madison Kovar She will be playing softball for Highland Community College and study Animal Science with hopes of becoming a Vet.

Madison Krause Madi plans on attending the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor this fall majoring in Health Sciences with emphasis on kinesiology. She plans on becoming a physical therapist.
