This will be the last week we complete work on the Anglo Saxons. After the half term holiday we will move to a new topic.

Remember you should still be using Reading Plus (about 30 minutes) and Times Table Rock Stars (5 games = 5 minutes) every week as I do check to see who has been on and how well everyone is doing.

Take careMiss Colligan

Activity 5 – To create a knight worthy of a seat at the round table

Here is an extract from part of the Legend of King Arthur

The Round TableAs a wedding present, Guinevere’s father, Lodegreance, gave Arthur a round table. The table had actually been a gift to Lodegreance from Arthur’s father, Uther. Arthur was pleased with the gift because it had enough space for all of his knights and it allowed them to discuss things as equals. Each seat had the name of one of Arthur’s knights on it except for one seat which was nameless. This seat became known as the Siege Perilous. This seat was for the greatest knight in the world and if anyone who was unworthy sat there, that knight would die.

You need to create a knight who would be worthy of sitting on the nameless seat. Your knight creation must include

Name (remember we are in the Anglo Saxon times) A background- did your knight come from a rich home or did he earn

his way A special weapon including how your knight got the weapon An interesting and exciting tale on how your knight is worthy to sit on

the seat.

When we are back at school I will choose the knight who is worthy of the seat based on you work.

Remember you might be at home but all your work should be your very best and should show you working at your hardest. It is just a bit more comfy doing school work in pjs!
