Tempted Like Everyone Else,
In Every Way
One of the most bizarre but also challenging ques-
tions I ever heard was from of group of teenagers.
They asked, “Father, were you ever tempted?”, as if
being a priest they thought we became immune to
temptations or other sins.
Thomas A Kempis, in his book, “The Imitation of
Christ”, wrote “No one in this world is so perfect or
holy as not to have a temptation. We can never be
entirely free of them.”
So, my answer to that question is YES! There is no
doubt that temptations are works of the devil and
their goal is to make us fall. The devil tries to at-
tack us where we are weakest. The devil always
seeks to destroy our resolve, pervert our ability to
do good, test our faithfulness, and deter us from
our commitment to God and to each other.
Like everyone else, my every day temptation is real
and true. I wish I could enumerate all of them
here, but the list might be too long. As T. A Kempis
wrote, “As soon as one temptation or trial goes, an-
other comes. We will always have something to
face…” However, it is not about how big or small
the temptation is. Instead, it is about our disposi-
tion, our attitude or our strategy in meeting and
dealing with them.
One thing is sure, we cannot run or hide from our
temptations. Therefore, we may as well face them
with firmness and steadfastness as Jesus did in
the gospel of Luke 4:1-13. We must face tempta-
tion with openness and courage, relying not on our
human strength but on the help of the word of God
and the Holy Spirit. We can only win the battle
against temptation by patience and humility,
knowing that without God’s grace and mercy we
are like empty vessels.
So, to have the strength needed to face our daily
enemies, we have to be anchored to the source of
that eternal strength. Let us nourish our heart and
soul with the word of God and let us always find
time to pray, every day as to have the power of the
Holy Spirit in us. With the proper disposition and
right attitude, and by always relying on God’s
grace, temptations and trials can purify us and
make us stronger.

Building and Appeal Update….
It has been awhile
since we’ve updated
everyone
on our progress….
We have been going
through the process
of receiving all of the
approvals to move
forward with phase 2
and 3 of our project.
Those phases are the creation of a new playground for our chil-
dren and the building of a new Early Child Education Center for
our PreK 3, PreK 4, Kindergarten and PREP classes. On January
15th our Land Development application was approved by Mal-
vern Borough and we will begin the bidding process of both
phases. The architectural drawings for our playground have
been reviewed and approved. There will be an area for our
young children, with playground equipment and a safe surface
for the children. In the next few months we will have contrac-
tors approved and work will begin on the playground. The com-
pletion of the playground will take a few months.
The construction of the new Early Childhood Education Center
will follow the completion of the playground.
We will keep you updated as we progress.
Thank you for your continued generosity and financial support.
