commencement of 2011 St. Patrick’ s College competes in the A division of schools for Athletics and

Swimming Carnivals Our students are selected for regional and state Athletics Representative Teams We are a participant in A Tier of schools for Townsville Athletics and Swimming

carnivals, currently placed fourth in Townsville District We provide education and leadership skills to girls from across the remote

Aboriginal communities across the North, Far North and Cape York Peninsula. Our students will become the Indigenous leadership of remote communities moving forward

We provide education to students from all regions of the Torres Strait islands. Commencing 2012, the school has 114 laptops housed in 6 mobile trolleys available

for classroom teachers. Our campus will have full Wireless coverage in 2012 All Room 10 desktops have been replaced. 113 Desktops are available to students in

the Art Computer Room Annex, Learning Support Room 16, Library Silent and Open Areas, Mathematics Room 23, the AV Computer Room as well as Computer Labs 10,11 & 12. (227 Computers for 300 students)

3 – 4 day Religious Education Retreat for each year level. St Patrick’s College is a school with a rich History, Heritage and a Culture of

Success that gives all great confidence. For a school of 300 we punch well above our weight.

Well done to St Patrick’s College, Townsville, on being ranked fifth among local secondary schools, according to statistics supplied in the 2010 Year 12 Outcomes Report released by the Queensland Studies Authority on 31 May 2011.  A significant 12% of the College’s OP-eligible student population received OP scores in the range 1 – 5, as shown in the comparison table below.

ALL students study 5 Core Subjects throughout the year Religious Education/Personal Development, English, Mathematics, Science and History-Geography Health and Physical Education for 3 periods per week throughout the

year. Students will study one minor subject (2 lessons per week) in The Arts

area and one minor subject (2 lessons per week) from the Technology area each term.

ALL students MUST choose FRENCH, JAPANESE or LANGUAGE AND LITERACY (ALL are Full-Year subjects – 3 lessons per week). LAL (Language and Literacy) is available to students who require further assistance in literacy.
