Rules of Fas+ng and Abs+nence!

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fast-ing and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence.

For members of the Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concern-ing abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.

Baptism Classes

Parents/guardians wan2ng to have their baby bap2zed will first

need to a"end a Bap2sm class, which are held the First Saturday of

every month at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Registra2on is required to

a"end the class. Bap2sm for your child cannot be scheduled un2l

you have completed the bap2sm class. Call the Parish Office at 387�

2554 for more informa2on or to register. Baptism

Bap2sms at St. Paul Catholic Church are scheduled the 2nd or 4th

Sunday of each month a;er the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Please contact the

parish office for scheduling your bap2sm. Bap2sms on other Sun-

days can be arranged by calling the parish office at 904�387�2554.!

Marriage Preparation

To schedule a wedding, an engaged couple must meet with their

parish priest or deacon at least 8 months before the proposed wed-

ding date. Preparation for the sacrament includes attending a

diocesan program, such as Engaged Encounter or Pre-Cana, and

completing the FOCCUS inventory. All couples of child-bearing

age will also need to take a full course of Natural Family Planning.

Pre-registration for each of these programs is mandatory. For more

information about the diocesan requirements or to register for any of

the diocesan programs, please visit www.dcfl.org or call 904-551-

2619.

No Greater Love Music Festival

March 4 @ 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join us for a music and arts festival in the spirit of the Servants of God of La Florida to offer humanitarian relief to Christians in the Middle East, featuring musicians Audrey Assad and

Colleen Nixon.

Festival begins at noon with music, vendors, food trucks, children’s activities, “Our Last Stand” documentary screening, Adoration, Reconciliation and Living Cemetery where actors share the stories

of the Martyrs of La Florida.

Mass will be offered by Bishop Estévez at 3 p.m. at the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. Performances start at 6 p.m. by Audrey Assad and Colleen Nixon. Tickets are $10 (12 and up) + freewill offering. More information and tickets available at www.NoGreaterLoveFestival.com.
