Dear St. Paul Families,
October is the month of the Holy Rosary. Blessed rosaries were donated to all of our students. Each student received their blessed rosary and students led us in praying the Living Rosary together as a school community, focusing on the Sorrowful Mysteries. You can watch the video on our school Facebook page. Tuesday was World Food Day. Tomorrow we will have a prayer service recog-nizing world hunger. Students brought in donations for world hunger and will receive a bracelet for donating to this important cause. If you would still like to
donate, tomorrow is the last day to do so.
Saturday is the Soles for Catholic Education Walk. We have 42 people signed up to walk with us and show our St. Paul School Spirit with our “I Love St. Paul” t-shirts and hand-made hats from the students! Tomorrow is the last day to send in shoes to donate. We filled three boxes this year! Thank you to Chad Bartell, our walk captain, for organizing our team and collecting donations. There is still time to register and walk! Go to www.catholicschoolswalk.org and
register to walk with St. Paul Cyclones!
Just a reminder, registration is open throughout the year. Continue to spread the word about St. Paul School! Contact us at 262-968-3175 for a school tour.
We may be exactly what you are looking for in a school!
STANDARDS BASED GRADING
St. Paul School will fully implement Standards Based Grading starting the 2019-2020 school year. Each week I will post information about Standards Based Grading and frequently asked questions so everyone is familiar with it prior to imple-
mentation.
Why are we moving away from letter grades?
There are a number of advantages to using proficiency based grading rather than letter based grades. The use of letter based grades can often confuse students and parents as they don’t clearly communicate the level of learning students are achieving. The criteria behind earning a particular letter grade can vary greatly among districts, schools, and even teach-ers within a school, leaving students and parents confused. In standards-based grading, the performance indicators clear-
ly communicate the level of learning students have demonstrated on the standards during the grading period.
CASH OR TUITION RAFFLE
Keep selling your Cash or Tuition raffle tickets! Remember, winners have the choice to win $2,000.00 cash or Free Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year! Contact the school office if you need more tickets to sell! The students love hearing their
name announced to come select their reward! Thank you to the following families for selling raffle tickets:
Arenz, Ball, DeMarais, Herbst, Kiesgen, Kramer, Milbrath, Rhodes, Breckenridge and Myers.
Sincerely, Mrs. Angela Gunderson Principal St. Paul School
Maker Space
Students made a simple paper circuit in Maker Space on Monday. They learned about potential energy, kinetic energy
and electrons by using copper wire, LEDS and lithium batteries to transfer electrons to light up Halloween project.
Book Fair Help
Book Fair is in need of help for Family Night on Tuesday, November 6. Go to Sign Up Genius under creator's name

Student Council
Student Council members are asking for pieces of fleece at least 30 inches by 30 inches to make no-sew fleece
blankets for animal shelters. Gently used blankets may also be donated.

sticky backed aluminum foil, Straw Bees, Keva Planks, Perler Beads with forms and tweezers, and bottle corks.

VIP Lunch Order Form Clarification
Students that are having VIPS coming for lunch can order a student hot lunch through their online Kettle Moraine portal.
If the student doesn’t have an online portal system, they can bring a bag lunch. The VIP Lunch Order Form is only for
the VIP guests and not for students.
