For Children Ages 2—6: Busy Bags are available near the Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) Table in the back of the sanctuary. One bag per child, please, and return bags to the bin following worship. Nursery care: There will be no nursery care during the service.
Visitors and members—Welcome to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church! We’re glad you’re here and pray that you experience God’s kindness with us in worship.
At St. Paul’s, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, all baptized persons are welcome at Holy Communion—the Altar is God’s table. The ushers will direct you down the center aisle. Please pick up a communion cup and proceed to the altar rail. Glasses of grape juice are available in the center of the tray. Gluten free wafers are available. If you are unable to come to the altar, please inform an usher so the Eucharist may be brought to you.
James tells us to stop showing favoritism in the assembly, treating the rich visitor with more honor than the poor one. Jesus himself seems to show partiality in his first response to the Syrophoenician woman in today’s gospel. Was he testing her faith in saying Gentiles don’t deserve the goods meant for God’s children? Or was he speaking out of his human worldview, but transcended those limits when she took him by surprise with her reply? Either way, the story tells us that God shows no partiality. Everyone who brings her or his need to Jesus is received with equal honor as a child and heir.

Flu Shot Clinic St. Paul's will be conducting its fifth annual flu shot clinic on Wednesday, September 12 beginning at 10:30 AM. We will be offering DPT boosters, the Shingles vaccine as well as the pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine and the regular and high dose flu shots. Because there is a co-pay for the Shingles shots, a copy of your supplemental
insurance card must accompany the registration forms. These will be submitted to the Rite Aid Pharmacy conducting the clinic in order to determine what your co-pay will be. They will contact you directly with this information, which will enable you to decide whether to get the shot or not. There is no cost for the pneumonia shot, as it is covered by Medicare, as is the flu shot. Any questions, call Sharyn Lyden at (609) 893-6349. You can sign up after services. Sign up sheets will be available in the narthex.

Memorial Hospital in Mt.
Holly. There are openings for trained lay
visitors every day of the week. Following a
training and orientation process, an Aide may
donate two to four hours each week to visit
patients, offering them friendship and spiritual
comfort.
The 18-hour training course will be offered in
the Conference Center at the Virtua Memorial
Hospital, 175 Madison Avenue, Mt. Holly on
October 12 and October 13, 2018 from 8:00
am to 5:00 pm with continental breakfast at
7:30 am. If you want to find out if
volunteering is for you before signing up for
the course, please phone or email for an
information package with details of the course
and the process of volunteering in the hospital.

Room) is currently under construction. Ultimately it will house permanent and rotating displays of items and information relating to the history of St Paul’s. There will be a media area for viewing DVD’s, a library area with the works of Martin Luther, a place to sit and read and a table to sit and do research.
This is an exciting opportunity for all members to get up close and personal with our history. Dedication of the new room is planned for October.
