Dear St. Peter Families,
A Night at the Oscars Green and Blue Gala 2016 was a wonderful and fun-filled suc-
cess! It was a blast to be with so many joyful people throughout the night. We even had
a few movie stars and superheroes make appearances. Before the excitement kicks in
for the week off of school, I want to sincerely thank all the volunteers, sponsors, par-
ents, teachers, and staff that made this past Gala a great evening to be together.
On Monday, we honored all of the veterans for our Veterans Day assembly. We were blessed with many parent, grandparent and
family veterans at the assembly, and our Student Council did a great job recognizing all veterans who have served our country. We
are incredibly grateful for their sacrifices to protect our country and freedom.
When we return from our break, we will be launching our Annual Fund Drive with the
Archdiocesan #iGiveCatholic online giving drive on Tuesday, November 29th. Last year,
a total of 112 parishes, schools and ministries participated in the event, and $1,357,270.68
was raised. Out of 2867 donations, 111 were designated for our school, and another 22
gave to St. Peter Parish. This means that over 4.5% of all generous donors gave to St.
Peter. Our families have been incredibly generous over recent years. #iGiveCatholic is designed to be an opportunity to support
Catholic parishes, schools and ministries during the busiest shopping week of the year. Please consider donating during the
#iGiveCatholic event for St. Peter Catholic School or emailing family or friends who would give to support our Catholic education.
I have very much enjoyed spending so much time with our families during our recent school events. Thank you all for the sacrifices
you make to provide a Catholic education to your children. I hope you have a safe, family-filled Thanksgiving week!
God alone,
Michael Kraus

The Timmons Family Hi! We are the Timmons Family. We have four kids at SPS. Luke is in 6th
grade, Drew is in 4th grade, Gabe is in 2nd grade, and Lucy is in Kindergar-
ten. We have been a part of SPS for 9 years now! Our days are incredibly
busy with school, two working parents, and afterschool/weekend activities.
We carve out time daily to talk as a family- electronics free! It might some-
times be in the morning discussing the day’s events. It may sometimes be
around the table in the evening praying over our meal or for special inten-
tions. It might sometimes be playing our dinner game which is to go around
the table and say something nice to a family member. We find the car on the
way to and from school to be the most stressful time of day, so we started
taking turns talking about the virtue of the month. Last month it was what
brings us joy, this month it is what we are thankful for. During the Christ-
mas season, we decorate a Jesse tree and tell the daily bible story in the car.
We try to carve out time to visit the Chapel monthly for a short prayer time.
We also strive to attend Mass on the weekends together. We guide our chil-
dren in their daily choices by talking about our Catholic be-
liefs and steering them towards making good decisions. In
the virtue of Thanksgiving, we frequently remind ourselves,
as a family, to dwell on all the blessings we have, and not on
the material possessions we do not have. As a family, we
have so much to be thankful for!

Dear St. Peter Families,
What a night we had! The 2016 St. Peter Gala, A Night at the Oscars, is in the books, and it was fantas-
tic. Thank you so much to all of our guests who attended the event and bid at our auction. We hope to have the
grand total of funds raised to report to you in the next few weeks. Remember, every dollar raised through our
fundraising events and our annual fund drive keeps the cost of tuition down. Please continue to support our
efforts; we will use funds for tuition assistance, professional development, facility improvements, technology
upgrades and to fund the school’s endowment.
There is no way this event could take place without the volunteer efforts of many, many people. The
following are extremely dedicated and enthusiastic. On behalf of our 770 plus students and 70 plus faculty and
staff, thank you for loving our school and for furthering the mission of Catholic Education.
Blessings and a very Happy Thanksgiving
to you all,
Karen Van Zandt
