Weekly Offering Thank you for your continued necessary support of the parish. In order to continue your weekly offering, envelopes can be mailed to the parish office or dropped in the mail slot just outside the parish office entrance doors. For online giving please go to the parish website: stpeterspokane.org and click the “Online Giving” button. May you be blessed in your generosity.

Sunday Mass We are overjoyed to be able to have Holy Mass again at St. Peter! The new guidelines allow for 25% capacity or 150 people at each Mass. As such, like last week, we have a sign-up process. There is no obligation to attend Holy Mass this Sunday and if you are vulnerable or otherwise not feeling well, please observe the Lord’s day from home.

Below please find perimeters established by Bishop Daly:

There must be a six-foot distance between families.

Parishioners are required to wear face masks whenever they are indoors for Mass, excepting the reception of Holy Communion. A mask is not required if it cannot be worn reliably or if it aggravates breathing difficulty or another health risk.

The sign of peace is omitted.

No distribution of the Chalice.

No singing at this time.

Holy Communion: Parishioners are encouraged to receive Holy Communion on a flattened hand.

When approaching Holy Communion please keep six-foot distancing between households. This is only temporary. Thank you for your patience during this time.

Sign-up Information for Sunday Mass

Information regarding Sunday Mass sign-up is sent out via Flocknote each week and can also be found on the home page of our parish website at stpeterspokane.org. Please phone the parish office if you should have any questions or might need assistance with sign-up. Thank you.

From Fr. Tomson in this Eucharistic Year

In this special Year of the Eucharist Fr. Tomson invites us to reflect on a quote that he has chosen from Bishop Daly’s Pastoral Letter on the Most Holy Eucharist.

This week’s quote:

“Where the Eucharist is celebrated there is the threshold of heaven and earth. The voices of patriarchs and prophets are heard in the Old Testament readings; the voices of martyrs and saints are heard in the New Testament readings. Angels, patriarchs and prophets, martyrs and saints, all the citizens of heaven, join their voices to ours in praising God.”

Taken from: Bishop Thomas A. Daly. “Pastoral Letter—The Most Holy Eucharist.” Diocese Spokane. Solemnity of Corpus Christi, 14 June 2020.

(Father Serra's Landing Place or Celebration of the First Mass (oil on canvas), unsigned, attributed to Léon Trousset. A depiction of Junípero Serra celebrating Mass in Monterey, California on 3 June 1770.)

Sunday Mass (online), offered by Bishop Daly Bishop Daly continues to offer Sunday Mass, livestreamed from the Cathedral at 9:00 a.m. In order

to participate by watching at home please go to: www.dioceseofspokane.org/mass-at-home. A link can also be found on our parish website, stpeterspokane.org.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You

are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if you were already there,

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen

Congratulations to the Newly Baptized St. Peter Parish welcomes Paul Robert Steinhilber who was baptized on Saturday, June 26th by Fr. Tomson.

Paul is the son of Matthew and Megan Steinhilber.

PARISH STEWARDSHIP

The parish office remains closed. However, we are checking phone messages and emails on a regular basis. Thank you for your patience as we respond as soon as we are able to.

Independence Day, July 4th Father of all nations and ages, we recall the day when our country claimed its place among the family of nations; for what has been achieved we give you thanks, for the work that still remains we ask

your help, and as you have called us from many peoples to be one nation, grant that under your providence, our country may share your blessings with all the peoples of the earth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
