It may have gotten by us that this Holy Year was coming to a close, as we may not have noted the end with as much fanfare as it began. Francis said the Holy Year of Mercy was a chance for Catholics to rediscover the core, the return to what is essential” and to “rediscover the youthful, beautiful face of the church, the face that is radiant when it is welcoming, free, faithful, poor in means but rich I love, on mission.” This Jubilee Year of Mercy is not lived over a 365 day period and ended when the last Holy Door in Rome is closed…Pope Francis used this year as an opportunity to “rediscover”. Principal’s News Bulletins:

A gracious thank you to all of our generous school fami-lies who gave so willing to those in need. The Adopt-a-Family program was a tremendous success!!! Families have received plentiful food baskets and children who may not have received anything for Christmas, will now enjoy opening a gift. Thank you.

Christmas Vacation - School and Extended Day Care will be closed Friday, Dec. 16 @ 11:30 AM . The school office will be closed too. May you be blessed with a joyful, peace-filled Christmas and enjoy a bright 2016. We will wel-come our students back from Christmas break when school resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

library! Thursday, Jan. 9 - “Sibling Inquiry Forms” for grades TK - 8th

are due. If applicable, please complete and return to the school of-fice.

Friday, Jan. 6: Let us celebrate Epiphany at 9:00 a.m. Mass, then an early dismissal at noon for grades K - 8 and 11:30 AM for the TK class. Extended Day Care is open for TK– 8 (please plan for lunch). Extended Day Care will be ordering pizza. If you would like to order, notify Extension. The cost is $3.50 per person and prepayment is required, CASH only please.

Friday, Jan. 13 - Minimum Day: Faculty Meeting & Dismissal is at noon for grades K - 8 and 11:30 AM for the TK class. Extended Day Care is open for TK– 8 (please plan for lunch). We invite your entire family to participate by visiting us during Book Fair week. You and your child will get the chance to pur-chase bestsellers, Newbery and Caldecott Medal-winning books, chapter books, picture books, and hundreds of other items only available at the Scholastic Book Fair. You will also have an option to purchase items through our book fair web-site located at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/stroseroseville . A Reminder Regarding UNIFORMS

(Read Handbook pg. 46 - 47 - 48)

Uniform Guidelines:

Shoes - Athletic shoes, (75%) predominantly white, black

or gray.

Socks - Solid white, crew or knee socks, tights may be

blue, black or white. No leggings, long johns or pantyhose are permitted.

Skirts - Our students are growing taller, right out of their

skirts. Hemline must be no more than 2 inches above the knee.

Free Dress - Please follow the dress code in the student

handbook.

This OPEN HOUSE is for the families of our current

students AND for all prospective students and their

families seeking a CATHOLIC EDUCATION. This is a

wonderful occasion for parishioners, neighboring

parish families, friends of alumni and current school

families, and grandparents to tour our campus and meet

our teachers. All are invited to join us following the

9:00 am Mass for hospitality in the parish hall. activi-

ties in the classrooms brought to you by our students

and teachers, a tour of St. Rose School if you like, and

a visit to the SRS library-sponsored Scholastic Book

Faire. This is a MUST-SEE, NOT-GOING-TO-WANT-

TO-MISS opportunity.
