NVJCYO—Northern Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization

NVJCYO has a member organization of approximately 45 parishes from the Diocese of Arlington. Their mission is to organize sports programs for parish youth throughout the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, to reinforce Catholic val-ues taught in parish schools and reli-gious education programs.

Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings 9:30-10:15 in the Parish Center. All chil-dren grades 4 and up (and 3rd graders who show readiness) are invited to join. Parish Picnic The Annual Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 2pm to 6pm. There will be games and activi-ties along with BBQ, burgers, hotdogs and beverages for every-one’s enjoyment. The best part of the day is – it’s free. All that we ask is for each family attending to bring a side or dessert to

share. The food should be in a disposable container with a disposable utensil. If not, put your name and telephone number on the bottom of the container otherwise, remember to take your container home with you when you leave. Lawn chairs or blankets are recommended for your seating comfort. If it rains, we’ll hold the picnic in the cafeteria.

Practical Dante Dante’s Divine Comedy, which con-sists of the Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise, is a classic of western litera-ture, but its intent is to help draw us closer to God. Join us as we begin the first leg of the journey studying the Inferno, where we will take away prac-tical lessons for improving our spiritu-al life in a friendly environment. The session began Wednesday September 13th and run for approximately seven weeks. Classes will be held 7:30 to 8:30pm in the Louis Martin room of the Parish Center. Baptisms

Parents desiring Baptism for their child must attend a class, preferably before the child’s birth. The clas-ses are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:30pm in the Louis Martin Conference Room in the Administration Bldg. After you attend the class, you may schedule your child for the Sacrament of Bap-tism (Sundays 1:30 pm).
