EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AT STCC First Fridays, Beginning June 7th

7 a.m.—8 a.m. Start your day in His Presence Parishioners are encouraged to stop by the church and pray before the exposed Holy Eucharist prior to starting their work day. Stay for a few minutes, or the entire hour. Stay and pray. As Catholics, we believe that at each celebration of the Mass, bread and wine are truly transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus is truly present (Body, Blood, Soul, & Divinity) in the most Holy Eucharist, we are blessed with the awesome opportunity to gaze upon and worship Him in His physical presence through Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. In Eucharistic Adoration, the Eucharistic Host (the Body of Jesus) is placed in a gold monstrance to be adored. Come adore Him at Eucharistic Adoration every First Friday of the month from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. at St. Theresa Church. Start your day in His Presence.

DEACON GEORGE RETIREMENT RECEPTION TODAY All are invited to a reception in the Family Center, Sunday, May 19th after the 9 a.m. Mass to thank Deacon George Zacek for 19 years of ministering to us at St. Theresa. His last Mass as deacon will be May 26th, exactly 41 years after his ordination May 27, 1978. We cannot thank you enough for the countless hours of ministry to our parish! To

learn more about Deacon George, see the News section of the parish website.

ST. THERESA HOSTS HOSPICE PRESENTATION More and more of us are experiencing hospice as an option for a loved one, or perhaps ourselves one day. Learn how hospice is very much in keeping with Catholic Church teachings on dying with dignity and how it can be a life-giving experience for patient and family alike. Come and ask your questions as you hear from hospice chaplain Debbie George, Monday, June 3, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Family Center. Chaplain George was recently featured in Catholic Spirit.

HELP US TAKE CARE OF OUR ALTAR The Altar Care Ministry is in need of a few good souls to help prepare the church for mass each week. The main tasks include filling the candles with paraffin oil, some brass polishing, straightening of the worship books and ensuring that the altar is dressed in the appropriate cloth and the priest's vestments are laid out. Training and written instructions will be provided, mentors assigned, the commitment is 1 -1.5 hours every 5 weeks. If interested in this beautiful ministry, please contact Peggy Miller, 512-296-7347, [email protected]

As followers of Christ, we are challenged to make a preferential option for the poor, namely, to create conditions for marginalized voices to be heard, to defend the defenseless, and to assess lifestyles, policies, and social institutions in terms of their impact on the poor. - Center for Social Concerns, University of Notre Dame

LIVING THE GOSPEL

Fifth Sunday of Easter This week’s readings call us to live

what we celebrate each week in the Eucharist: that we love one another in Christ. Our celebration is dead if it does not transform us into God’s people, a people of love and ser-vice. Paul’s ministry brought him out of the Jewish world, into the Gentile world. Who is it that needs to hear God’s word and experience God’s love from us this week? How can we be of service?
